Not sure exactly how many scenes are currently in however if you wanted to just read the cutscenes you missed then just check out the wiki. Should get you up to speed on what's going on if you piece things together.

Magic vendors stock them if you invest in them. Drinking from wells has a random chance to give you the opposite, good mutation, i.e. curing the bad one. But they can also further increase the bad mutation. Otherwise go dungeon diving and hope for the best.

You can do far more difficult delivery/escort quests early on. Which in turn means FAR more platinum and gold as a newbie. That's by far the main selling point.
It's also far more cost-effective to a certain degree, since taxation generally outweighs salary unless you have the relevant perks and karma score. So you can clear, let's say 20 dungeons instead of 10 per taxday. This is a minor selling point. As is the fact you can rack up travel experience far faster (since it's based on distance walked, not time outside).

Stacks yes impenetrable no. The nullify damage is based on chance and it doesn't seem like it activates that often. The reduction to physical damage is ok.

I run multiple ranches in parallel, so I can passively get food without worry.
One thing I've noticed is that even though they're all Putits (started them as a newb, but meaning to replace them), one is overwhelmingly milk, another overwhelmingly eggs, another trash.
I'm suspecting each breeder has a disposition to producing more of its own type (egg, milk producers). Makes me wonder if I could set up an egg farm rather than corpse farm... do eggs produce the same potential increases as corpses?

Why is that, that everytime you roll for your alias, backstory, house name or whatever you never get the thing you want. You roll and roll and roll. Even worse in character creation when you accidently hit progress and lose more than one stage of the process when going back. I can understand the random rolling for stats, but for fluff like alias and backstory; it makes no bloody sense. Just give a list with all the available bits and pieces. SCUT.

Maybe I'm a simple person but I got everything I wanted through rolls. Part of the fun is just maybe picking out one or two background bits and just leaving the rest to chance. It splits and the split mobs all try and cast wish (usually failing and killing themselves from overcasting)
But if you could find/remember the gate you could just farm wishes there like a dirty cheater.

Since you seem new to pet raising stick to low INI pets. The catgirl imouto should be fine for you. Don't know what your oneechan is specifically so I can't comment on that.
If you're still only in North Tyris I'd just focus on keeping your pets skill and attribute potentials high. To do this, you want your pets to visit their trainer in town. If they have enough money you'll see them visit their trainer as you walk around the city or rest. To get gold for their trainer let them loot gold off of dungeon boss kills and other stuff on the dungeon ground. Pickpocket can also help them out in collecting gold for trainer costs.
Once you get to South Tyris you can look into training your pets to become powerful in earnest. You'll get access to trading in AP for special abilities, speed, skill bonus, etc.
Also, you can probably start to get serious about maybe starting up an herb farming operation. If you do decide to start up an herb farm I'd suggest your pet's diet be currarias and stomafilias. Both herbs can help raise their attributes. Currarias are slightly better than stomafilias but stomafilias are still alright and they're plentiful. Curraria herb in concoctions, while incredibly powerful for a pet, should only be used on your character until you're swimming in herbs imo. You need the Curraria concoction more than your pet does. Once you have enough herbs to provide for both you and your pets then yes, go ahead and give your pet the premium stuff(Curraria as a base herb in recipe) Try to keep your pets roughly the same in power to your character though or you'll have difficulties later on. Cut them off from herbs if you have to.
Alongside raising a pet's attribute the other major pain point of a pet is its speed. That needs to be worked on. A pet that is faster just overall, does better in combat and is easier to work with. Look into raising their speed through trading in AP or giving them Hermes potions, speed upper potions, and just plain feeding them herbs.
The last part of the growing pet strength equation is raising skills and that can either be done naturally through them using their skills or through using the AP they earn and converting them into bonus skill points. Once the AP has been converted you need to speak with an informer to get access to your pet's character sheets where you'll distribute their bonus skill points as you see fit.

Certainly does seem like INI plays a role in trainer costs with larger INI values having scary training costs. Luckily, another anon tracked down that charisma helps bring down trainer costs. My pet Akeno managed to cut her training costs nearly in half once she capped her charisma. Meanwhile, I'm back to being horrified at training costs with my performaid pet Mayu. It looks like I'm going to have to finally start tinkering around with custom's AI feature too. She uses MP Breath a little too much for my liking so I need to tweak that.

Older sister should be fine. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a catsister only has 200 or so speed? That may be fine for North Tyris but that's kinda low when you get to South Tyris. Around that time monsters will start to get deadlier and also faster so you'll want to amass as much speed as you can. As for the herb food yes, two currarias. What I normally do is create one blessed stack of currarias and another stack that isn't blessed. That allows you to use curraria as a base. Another way I think you can do it but I haven't tried myself, is just identify one stack and leave another stack unidentified.

Yes I seem to recall ~200 speed base, I think I also recall south tyris stuff being far above it, but I can't remember that well. I got to lost irva and everything was untranslated and I just stopped there a year-ish ago. I guess if curarias are that important though I should start doing harvest times to have a large supply of them then for my pet and I.

Picnic baskets are ok. They help with attribute potentials I think but you can get by without them if need be since there are other ways to raise and maintain your attribute potentials. Some ways off the top of my head are blessed potions of potential which you either can buy off of invested magic vendors or make yourself through crating and pets cooking breakfast for you. Those are my main two ways I keep my attribute potentials high. For pets, keep their potentials high through having them visit their trainers.

Really, if anyone has the time, I'd really appreciate some help doing the testing here. This should open up quite a bit of potential for modifications that won't require the executable to be recompiled. That includes adding translations for flavor text. I just need to make sure everything works properly before I push this into a stable build.
Once this is working, I'll do the same for items (item descriptions) and card descriptions, making them entirely editable outside the executable.
I've even got an idea in my head for NPC dialogue and conversation choices, but I don't know for sure yet that it'll work.
But please, please don't use your save on this without backing it up first. It has serious potential to affect your file.

Yes, if you haven't done so make sure you change applocale to japanese, that will probably help.

How do I teach pets spells?

If you have a spell level => 50 then depending on THEIR casting skill level and the difficulty of the spell itself then you can go to the custom AI menu and select 'teach spells/abilities.' The thing to remember here is that you only actually need to get their casting skill to ~5 or so at which point they can learn Holy Shield or feather. As long as you set their AI so that they buff themselves before a fight their casting level should skyrocket over time.

I don't know what regular item means. I've checked the shitaraba thread, and it seems they don't know either. Someone did suggest that it refers to items that the NPC wasn't carrying before he died. Like you know how some NPCs drop scrolls of curse even though they weren't carrying any?
Kumiromi's sp regen is a nerf, not a buff. It used to recover 1 sp/turn. That sp regen and the sp regen from Regeneration do not work while performing. It still allows for a lot more performances/ensembles during Party Time!, though.

Thanks for the heads up on that. I've been looking forward to getting my MP problem resolved. Seemed after going over a certain threshold your MP gets zapped to one so it looked like an overflow problem.
I was wondering how Ano would go about fixing this and from what I've seen I'm guessing he changed how HP and MP is calculated. After unequiping all of my gear and reequiping them I was pleased to see that my MP no longer got reduced to one but instead I saw that my HP and MP were lower. I also unequipped and requipped the gear on my pets and sure enough their HP and MP changed. All were lower than in the prior version of Elona.
Are you guys experiencing the same thing? I've posted a picture that shows what my HP and MP were like in the previous version of Elona(1.55) where the bug existed and what my HP and MP are like now in 1.56. If HP and MP have been recalculated I wonder if this also extends to enemy HP and MP. I don't think my damage has changed yet if everyone, player and enemy alike, have had their HP and MP lowered I wonder how this affects the games difficulty.
I personally don't really care that I have less HP and MP since the amounts I have are still more than enough. I just care if it's working as intended. I can practically cast without resting ever and by the time my MP does get low chances my character is already sleepy hence I can just refill my MP bar again by sleeping. Or I can just use Itzpalt's absorb magic.

That reminds me that my character has had some weird moments regarding age. There was deliberate attempts to keep my character young through blessed slow potions but things got really weird when a couple of pumpkins in the past threw them at me making me more younger than I wanted. This lead to the weird situation where my little girl was actually older than my character. Here I was, trying to be the older brother figure to the little girl, but now having to ask for permission to do stuff, hold hands with her so I don't get swept up from crowds, have shopkeepers address her instead of me, take baths together, and I'm sure other anime/Japanese tropes.
On a side note, I'm amused that I can actually say and be right, "I can literally just breath on <insert god name here> and they will die." I don't think the gods have 5 million HP
