The current ALYS is for Alter/Ego which is a new french-canadian synthesizer. I don't think it can yet compare to Vocaloid and not even to Cevio.

Now, now. You must be young so I'll explain a few things to you.
First, copine is way too broad, and most of the time it's either children using it to talk about a crush or a friend, or girls of all ages talking about their female friends like "C'est ma copine!".
If you want to be technical, people don't say copine but "petite copine" when they talk about their girlfriend.

In everyday langage we say "copine" or "petite amie" for girlfriend,
"amie" or "pote" for female friend.

It depends of the context of course, if a 8yo say "ma copine" it means his friend in general but if a +10yo say that it means girlfriend.
Also "aime" = love and "aime bien" = like

Well, it's still disapointing. All the Alys hype was built over the premise that she would be the first french vocaloid. Non-vocaloid voice synthesizers that can sing in other languages than japanese/english/spanish/chinese are not so impressive, since there's a lot of utaus made to sing in various languages.

The earlier ones, like Miku, simply used a simpler model for production. Just from my ear (could be BS), it seems like they add a emphasis and then cutoff of the vocals with a general level of sibilance.
