As I hope to revive the love for Type-Moon in /jp/ I have conceived this thread.
Let's discuss the wonderful world of Type-Moon together!

p.s
If you're an anime-only secondary please return to >>>/a/ and if you only care about that new game that gets discussed on >>>/vg/ then please return there.

That's not how I saw it.
It didn't dwell on characters that already were characterized in the fate route and didn't "re-reveal" things that were irrelevant to the the current story.

Regardless of how you feel about something, you should at least try not to just insult.
Something like "the story is over-blown and too wordy to be acceptable or consumable when it can communicate the same thing in much less wasted time" is a much better argument.
Nobody wants to be seen as a /v/irgen

They deserve whatever amount of money they got and more.
Not only because of their incredible, unique talent, but also because of all the effort and sacrifices they made to get to where they are.

And you can go kill yourself.
>>
>>14889343
Not OP but it doesn't seem to have any major news recently.
I have a feeling that they see it as a side-project, so it usually gets low priority for working on it. I think the work will truly start when they decide on a platform, but that's just me.
>>
>>14889362
>It was /v/!
If you read a typemoon thred on /jp/ there are almost no chances that you don't have at least an average knowledge of nasuverse, and any trite and repeated to death comment is just a waste of space. we talked thousand of times about nasu shortcomings as author and his ruthlessness in exploiting lowest possible denominator marketing tactics to expand more and more his audience
do we have to list in every thread what's common knowledge?
the point is extremely simple, if you actually have an overall positive opinion on what typemoon is doing in the recente years, then simply you're too young to have developed a taste in fiction or just have zero standards in a very casual user fashion.
>>
>>14889420

ccc is nasu's strongest script that gracefully distills existentialist ideas and utilizes utena-esque theatrics to tell its story

mahoyo is the first part of what could potentially be the best nasuverse entry yet with phenomenal aesthetic and scene direction coupled with writing brimming with personality.

Lovely. Strange Fake is my favorite of the LNs I've read, so I'll probably get started on that in about a week. It's pretty short, too, so I doubt it would take me more than a couple months a book. I might do Fragments after, as it's next on my reading list.

Just enable "skip already read sequences" when you get to a point where you have to try all the combinations to find the one that makes you progress, which usually happens only when you're far into the story.
I recommend playing as far as possible before enabling it, though.

Her oki game is pretty horrifying, sometimes you can worm your way out of it online by switching up your tech directions and doing something like a forward tech after she OTG 5b's and throws a cat out, because its much harder to react to stuff like that in rollback.

Shes pretty much just the tech punish and fuzzy guard queen, but its hard to utilize her fuzzy guards online too, so usually just blocking her (weak) ground strings until you see an opening will get you out of it just fine. Gotta be ready to react to her doing things that shouldnt work though, like throwing a cat in the middle of a blockstring.

I guess it's just important to stay calm and realize that even though her mixup is brutal, things like her throw wont give her too much damage even if they do put you back in the blender.

At least its not Hime or Arcueid...

Are you an idiot?

The steam release is going to have much worse netcode than the fan-made caster which is currently available.
I hate when people say they are going to start playing when it comes out on steam, because there is absolutely no reason to wait for an inferior version of the game.
>>
>>14903336
>The steam release is going to have much worse netcode

Could you expound?
>>
>>14903438
Arcsys are the ones releasing it on steam.

Look at any of their previous releases (GG Xrd, BBCPEX, AH3LM) on pc and the netcode is mediocre, not only is it delay based netcode, but its poorly done delay based netcode at that. It will never be as good as rollback netcode like the fan-made caster uses.
>>
>>14903453
well, there are people who play Xrd on the computer right now

that said, you would think they are aware that literally nobody uses MBAA netplay and literally everybody uses the rollback caster

There are also a near-infinite number of short manga collections for every major Type-Moon work, but none of them are canon and no human deserves to be subjected to most of them, so they should stay off the list.
>>
>>14903625
I still don't understand why did they base Carnival Phantasm over that one specific, terrible, unfunny manga. That entire beach sequence was just like, shit, am I reading Nogizaka Haruka? Good thing they have made latter episodes original content.

By the way, there are also people who have only ever watched Carnival Phantasm, and liked it.

Fuck you, Demo.
>>
>>14903649
>By the way, there are also people who have only ever watched Carnival Phantasm, and liked it.
it's better if you read the previous one before.
>>
>>14903649
Not only did they base it on Take Moon; they based it on the worst bits of Take Moon. All Around Type-Moon was much funnier with its cafe skits, though. I think that was the only time Neko Arc participated in a joke that even kind of worked, unless you count that jab at Dragon Ball Evolution.
>>
>>14903649
>>14903674
I will admit to showing two friends the Fate/Zero anime, then the racing episode of Carnival Phantasm, and telling them that was the whole canon.

I am asking here because this question got my post deleted by janny on /vn/

I am trying to play tsukihime, I have the original version and the patch. The problem is, I am on a mac. Any idea how can I run the game?
>>
>>14917245
I've always used Onscripter-EN for those VNs. Beats me if it's in macports or whatever you guys use, but it should be portable.
>>
>>14917263
I've read something like that: using OnScripter to run it.

But then what would be the correct procedure?
I have the file in a .ccd format.

Basically I have no idea where to begin with, even if I do have all the ingredients.
>>
>>14917277
I've never run across ccds. I have a folder containing files arc.nsa, arc.sar, nscript.dat, ons.cfg, etc. When I run `onscripter' from that directory, everything works. The ons.cfg file contains the contents

gameid=tsukihime
no-movie-upscale

So somebody (perhaps me, and I've just forgotten) set up the data for it to work this way.
>>
>>14917322
My problem is what to run through Mac and what to run in the emulation environment.
The patch and the installer are both in .exe, and the .ccd file had to be opened through daemon tools, so I have a virtual cd with arc.nsa etc and basically everything is scattered.
>>
>>14917404
Perhaps you just need to extract the ccd, add ons.cfg, and run onscripter from that directory?
>>
>>14917245
>>14917404

.ccd is an CD image file, extract contents with your packer/depacker of choice.

Use a VM and run Windows on it with the files (you could directly mount the ccd with a virtual CD mounter software and install directly that way)
Or use Wine for Mac. (need to extract file contents yourself)
>>
>>14917420
>you could directly mount the ccd with a virtual CD mounter software and install directly that way

Like daemon tools, right?
I think that's what I did, I have a virtual cd now, do I just run the installer using wine?
>>
>>14917462
Probably not.
As I said, if you go Wine you'd have to depack the CD contents manually.
>>
>>14917550
So I can depack the .cdd using for example the unarchiver?
>>
>>14917587
I don't know specific software since I don't use OSX. There's bound to be software that you can use to read ccd filetype or convert it to a standard file like iso, google it up since I have no idea what will work.
>>
>>14917622
Could I alternatively try to transport the CD files on my computer?

My real problem is that the installer is an .exe, so it's not like I can run it in a simulated environment.
>>
>>14917245
Don't know how, but if you have an android phone/tablet you can play tsukihime on it by using the app Onscripter plus.
>>
>>14917587
Did you try it?
>>
>>14917868
I tried. Doesn't work.

I Have no idea what to do next.
>>
>>14917876
In >>14917404 you said you could mount the ccd. So once you've mounted it, copy all the files off.
>>
>>14917912
In another folder you mean?
I can do that, but then I am supposed to run the exe, and to do that I need to use a virtual space, either wine or playonmac
>>
>>14917920
1) So do that.
2) I've never had to run a .exe file to play Tsukihime.

There are lots of things you can do.
>>
>>14918043
Uhh... so you mean to tell me you didn't run the installer?
how did you install the game then?

I am all ears.
>>
>>14918103
Yeah, I told you in >>14917322.
>>
>>14918122
I double-checked, I lack arc.nsa, arc.sar, and ons.cfg

I suppose something's missing.
>>
>>14918157
But you said you had them in >>14917404. In this case, you'll either have to extract them yourself from wherever they are, or just run the installer in wine like you suggested above.
