What springs should I buy?

Reposting since last thread 404'd

>learning in general
Random off.
>I can't read certain chords that aren't 1357 or 246
or
>I can't do X-Y trills at all but I'm fine with Y-Z trills

>I can do certain streams but some streams feel random to me and I can't keep up
Random on to practice.

Random is also good to try if you want to improve scores on a song you've already passed normally.

>>14877058
It depends. 50/100 is how most the AC are equipped with, but after some time the springs will eventually lose their resistance so they'll essentially become 50/50.

Sorry about the non-relevant image, board software doesn't let me post anything without any images attached. pls fix, hiroyuki.

Is there anyway someone outside of sows can get a IIDX HDD?
>>
>>14880573
i found tricoro on my own in december 2013, a year before joining sows
spada leaks were also plastered all over these threads a while back
>>
>>14880573
also, nice 573
>>
>>14880573
Yes, but I would recommend you still joined sows in order to get access to information and stuff.
>>
>>14880573
Yes, there's plenty of leaks for everything at least up to spada.

You'll have to find them yourself, as they're not supposed to be outside of sows.

Again, once you have the data you're going to need a PCBID anyway, or run ealocalserver, but this disables saving scores.
>>
>>14880587
Been looking for a while, found an old tricoro pastebin but I heard it didn't work. Haven't seen anything about spada.
>>
>>14880598
Honestly at this point I'll take anything to get some decent practice. My only arcade is like 2 hours away and LR2 is seeming to cause more harm than good.
>>
>>14880608
LR2 should not cause more harm than good if you're playing on a controller.

It helps with reading quite a bit, although timing is a bit looser and I don't think there's a way to tighten it up.

tl;dr get into sows it's not even hard lurk moar

Oh, also, there's no leaks of omnimix, as far as anybody knows, so you really should get in.
>>
>>14880615
Well it is helping with reading, but timing is so much rougher on actual IIDX.
>>
>>14880605
You could even get pendual if you search more. Hint: I can't post it because if I did, it would be detected as spam.
>>
>>14880615
>there's no leaks of omnimix, as far as anybody knows
I know I got it from a leak.
>>
>>14880643
Well I don't know anything then.

Also, protip, if you get a leak, you can seed it when/if you get into sows for ez ratio, so you can actually download AC data later.
>>
>>14880647
Thanks for the tip.
>>
>>14880629
set each chart's rank setting to normal and lr2's jgreat window is only 1ms bigger on each end

or you can set them to hard and have it 1ms smaller than iidx on each end
>>
Do non-combo breaking Poors count against you?

Sometime I dick around a little too much at the start of a song and get one.
>>
>>14880734
The mechanics behind Bad/Poor needs to be explained in detail.

Does anyone know what the actual timings for Bad, "MashPoor" and Poor are in LR2 and/or IIDX? Does Bad and Poor always break the combo and mashing doesn't?
>>
>>14880795
Mash poors decrease your lifebar and count as misses for your misscount, but don't break combo. Regular poors and bads decrease the lifebar more and do break combo.
>>
>>14880734
Excess POORs do nothing other than increase your miss count and decrease the groove gauge. You can get still get MAX FC with excess POORs.

>>14880795
I don't have the frame numbers on hand, but how BADs work should be straightforward. In IIDX, there is an excess POOR window both before and after notes. In LR2, the excess POOR window only exists before notes, though it is much larger than the IIDX one.

Can BPM be used as a measure of song's difficulty? Say I'm stuck at a wall. Is it a good way to go by practicing a level lower at high BPM and lower BPM at higher level?
Depending on the day I'm often finding it difficult to practice higher level songs, yet lower ones are mostly too easy except few high BPM songs.
It's generally fine to play through different higher level songs, but depending on the song it's often a mash-fest. So, I'm trying to figure out a better practice setup where I'd be working towards improvement rather than either mashing songs (wasting time) or playing too easy ones (also wasting time).
It's difficult to keep going for long sessions, because it always tends to fall into one or the other extreme - too easy or too hard

Thanks
>>
>>14892209
You can also ask for a PCBID in that one thread.
(PCBID day v2, I think?)

Look at the SDVX - II thread, that will have the link to the most recent one.

It's honestly not that hard.
>>
>>14893410
>Can BPM be used as a measure of song's difficulty?
No. But it's possible for a person to be bad at hitting 16ths at 200 BPM while being good at hitting 16th chords at 100 BPM that have the same note density, or vice versa.

>Say I'm stuck at a wall. Is it a good way to go by practicing a level lower at high BPM and lower BPM at higher level?
It's good to practice whatever it is you're bad at.

>So, I'm trying to figure out a better practice setup where I'd be working towards improvement rather than either mashing songs (wasting time) or playing too easy ones (also wasting time).
I personally find it best to alternate. Work on hard songs to push yourself further, but always make sure to clean up and solidify your technique on easier songs every once in a while.

I firmly believe that variety (including using Random in IIDX) is the key to getting better.

>It's good to practice whatever it is you're bad at.
Completely agreed. However, well, mashing through something you're really bad at probably won't help too much or you could get the same results practicing something easier with similar patterns

>I personally find it best to alternate. Work on hard songs to push yourself further, but always make sure to clean up and solidify your technique on easier songs every once in a while.
Again, totally agree. Usually I go through harder songs for few first hours and then slightly easier songs, but still above my skill level for another few hours. Then a break, rinse and repeat (albeit a shorter session). Leaving pure timing practice as the last thing to do, because while it's important, it won't help too much if I can't comprehend charts comfortably and consistently
Random comes off very rarely (nothing too specific to work on just yet)

Well, thanks for your reply. It always helps when somebody can verify thoughts. Being stuck at a wall I tend to start doubting whether my approach is the best way to go. Thinking whether I should just grind hard shit mashing as hard as I can or take more reasonable steps, etc.
I've logged almost all my sessions and there isn't too big of a difference seen in progression between approaches. However, some are definitely much more stressful than others. Trying to find and stick to something reasonable what works to avoid burning out. Practicing for several hours daily with a poor, stressful approach quickly burn me out

It depends. If you're looking for fun every session then yes, this probably isn't fun (even though I get a lot of enjoyment out of successful session). >>
This might sound silly, but after like 6 months of playing, I still don't really know How to approach scratching charge notes.

I quickly learned you don't just scratch frantically back and fourth. What I do is rotate the TT one direction for the entirety of the note and at the very end, scratch the other direction like a regular scratch.

I still seem to always drop my combo doing this though. Not sure what exactly to do.
>>
>>14895923
scratching the same direction until the end at which point you scratch the other direction is the way you are supposed to hit them. as far as breaking combo, charge notes are hard. just keep at it

So I seem to have inadvertently fucked something up in LR2 and now all my folders have both the bms for singles and doubles.

This scared the fuck out of me at first because I thought I deleted all my scores.

How do I fix this?

How long did that take to do?

I've always assumed those types of videos take 100+ hours to do.
>>
How many people here play groove coaster?
>>
>>14907259
About two days, apparently I created the project file on the 9th.

>>14908404
Only when I have access to it, which is almost never. Fun game though.
>>
>>14909606

What game was in that video? I've never seen that before. Was it even Bemani?
>>
>>14909606
The mobile version is just as fun.
>>
>>14909641
Groove Coaster
It's on ios (and arcade)
>>
>>14909659
Don't have an apple device.
>>
>>14909758
Playable on android too.
>>
>>14909780
Shit phone, can't run it.

Although I'll certainly install it when/if I ever do get a newer phone.

For now I'll stick to IIDX.
>>
>>14909809
Definitely try it at some point, it's really simple but fun, just tap, hold and slide.
>>
>>14910488
> it's really simple
No. Visuals are fucked up to compensate for easy control, so the load goes on the visual perception instead of hands movement.
>>
>>14910661
It's still pretty easy for the most part. Fun though.
>>
>>14910661
>so the load goes on the visual perception instead of hands movement.

then why is it everytime i'm at the arcade i see someone playing it literally with their back facing the screen
>>
>>14910754
Because it's easier to memorize something than spend effort sightreading a game with annoying visuals, a la SDVX.

How in the bloody fuck are you supposed to undo the bolts holding the keys in an ASC? I got Sanwas and I cannot for the life of me get the old keys out.
>>
>>14911080
Just turn them like the cap on a bottle?

I can unscrew them by hand with no issues.
>>
>>14911133
In my Popn and SDVX ones they turned fine, but in my IIDX they're so tight I couldn't even get them off with a wrench

I believe I am not exaggerating when I say becoming a master at IIDX is literally the hardest thing a human being could do. Of course by master I mean 95%+ EXHCing 12s consistently.

Harder than climbing Mt. Everest
Harder than winning a gold medal at the Olympics
Harder than starting a billion dollar company
Harder than raising children
Harder than mastering any instrument

I believe its even harder than any combined group effort.

It is perhaps even harder than the success of the Apollo space program.
And even perhaps harder than winning WWII

The people doing this shit on Youtube are literal gods walking among us.

Check those beautiful digits.
Didn't screenshot but managed to pass Pandemonium C from ITG with surprising ease. Workout sessions are really paying off. Summer C and VerTex^2 C are the last two left.

Yes. There is no newer version for pendual.

To all the cucks stuck on the IIDX 10 wall: Don't give up. I hit the wall 6-7months ago and made barely any progress since then. But then I woke up on a morning and many charts that used to be overwhelming felt easy, and I'm now making fast progress. I revisit tracks that I haven't played in 2 weeks and shit on rivals scores, beat my high scores by 100-200 ex points and pass many 10s that I kept failing, feels incredibly good
>>
>>14911426
Are you the same guy who talked about IIDX being a good analogy for life in Japan?
>>
How do i into rhythm games on PC or android?! I wish there was some kind of a guide.
>>
>>14913381
PC- Lunatic Rave 2, Stepmania
Android- Cytus, Deemo, Groove Coaster 2
>>
>>14913381
Have half a brain at the least. There are shitloads of rhythm games on any platform. Just play things until you find something you like.
>>
>>14913483
>There are shitloads of rhythm games on any platform
I don`t want to go through shitty ones, thats why i rely on opinions of experts here. Dont be a douche.
>>14913478
Thank you anon.
>>
>>14913525
i downloaded groove coaster 2 today, bought the t+paz pack, no regrets
>>
>>14913542
Ill give it a try! Already played Cytus and Deemo.
>>
>>14913525
Form your own opinions faggot. This general is a bemani game circlejerk and if you're not playing IIDX you're not playing a proper rhythm game.

Touchscreen rhythm games are generally frowned upon here too.

You won't enjoy games if you just buy into culture opinions. Find something fun.
>>
>>14913921
>touchscreen rhythm games are generally frowned upon here too

no they're not you fucktard
>>
>>14913951
they are in sows

There is a save on sows or root and lucky patcher the shit out of it.

They wouldn't have threads specifically for Jubeat Plus and Reflec Beat if they did.
>>
>>14912712
>But then I woke up on a morning and many charts that used to be overwhelming felt easy, and I'm now making fast progress.
what the fuck is this phenomenon? this shit has happened to me in every single rhythm game i've played, get stuck on 33s in pop'n? take a small break and can suddenly clear some 38s. can't clear jumpstream files in stepmania? took a break and could start clearing 200BPM jumpstream.
>>
>>14913381
we should make a rhythm game guide
>>
>>14914477
>sows is one person
>>
>>14913978
>>14914599
>they are in sows
>sows is one person

>everyone in sows hates touch screen games
Is what you're basically trying to say here
>>
>>14914620
Something being frowned upon within a community doesn't mean literally nobody there likes it, it means a relative minority likes it and many of the others actively dislike it.
It's really not that hard to just not be a retard
>>
Where can I find good Stepmania themes? Most of the themes on ZiV are incomplete or shit.

what the fuck do i do i cant decide between getting a popn or iidx controller fuck
ive played a popn machine before at an arcade but not iidx but iidx looks fun
>>
>>14915381
iidx will very likely have longer lasting appeal
>>
>>14915381
Pop'n is easier to get into and is just as hard as IIDX in high difficulties, except for maybe some really crazy IIDX doubles. ASCs are also cheaper.
>>
>>14915381
Play IIDX at an arcade and find out

Both are fun. Follow your heart.
