I don't remember the exact cost but the drawing was between $60-80 for two different sides, getting it printed probably cost $80-100, and the pillow was like $60 with forwarder fees, I got one of these bad boys. That's probably the only area you should skimp out on, I just got that particular one because I was buying stuff from Amazon.jp anyway and didn't want to have to leave the house to look for a pillow. Pretty much anything soft and big enough to fit inside the case will work, but you'll probably spend $200+ in total provided you don't have thousands to drop on commissioning a pro artist
Probably the best money I've ever spent, I'm glad I didn't waste money on the official one because it looks horrible and like she's about to get raped.

Slolita is Chinese and they're not too bad. Qualitatively I'd put them above hobbyheart (who are also Chinese) and not much worse than some generic "Japanese" 2WT I've had (e.g., the New Game! Movic cover of Aoba, the US re-release of the Grisaia covers). The best is going to be A&J, though some people find them too silky apparently and prefer Seiren (similar to A&J just a little thicker) or p80 (very thick, very sturdy feeling, still pretty smooth).
As for where, you'll have to comb yahoo auctions (you'll need a forwarder) or mandarake (they ship directly). Basically all good quality dakis are limited print runs and you'll only find them secondhand.

There's your problem there. I only have Maria Takayama from season 1 in twill and i love it. I have a smooth for Atago and the only problem i have with smooth is how fucking slippery it is. You HAVE to buy the appropriate hugging pillow for it too. Pillows for twill material do not work on COSPA smooth at all.
If you wanna get those smooth Haganai Dakimakura out of your hands i'll be willing to buy them off of you. No kidding.

I don't know what "twill" is (peach skin?) but I really like that smooth silky feeling. A&J is the best material in the world, and the DHR6000 is like an enormous marshmallow. It's frustrating because I feel spoiled, as though I can't enjoy anything that isn't A&J or a similar quality fabric (Seiren is also alright).
