I would barely call it a game. It has nice atmosphere for the first few minutes but it gtes a real pain to navigate the endless scrolling stages and warps.

I wish there would be more walking simulators like YN.
No, nothing like the knockoffs, those miss the point by focusing to much to the scary and gory part of YN and forget about the more normal worlds that are just peaceful to explore.
Neither I want your usual indie game that wants you to collect diary pages to discover some stupid story.
I just want to be dropped in a world with no developer telling me what should I think. A good example would be LSD but the randomization of the small range of worlds kinda kills it.
I had my fun walking around in Xenoblade X though, the world was very pretty.

That inconsistency is one of the reason why I like it, dreams aren't meant to be consistent at all anyway so getting to somewhere different each time you play feels interesting.

You might want to try FEZ. Beyond the intro there is no storybeing directly told to you, the environment actually tells a rather interesting story but most people never notice it, and you're basically just exploring and solving logic puzzles (with no interdependence like requiring item X which you get after solving Y; all puzzles can technically be solved from the start, you just lack information). I quite liked exploring the world of FEZ.

Even .flow has city streets, night clubs, waterworlds and stuff, and it's by far the most 2spooky4u of the fangames. I thought the bit where you go through all the brothel/sex shit and then simply see the prostitute standing at the edge staring into the darkness was genuinely sad.

Yume 2kki is pretty good. There are a lot of normal places, not just spooky shit. My favorite is the amusement parkbefore you go underground.It was fun checking out the different attractions.
