-Winter event has been announced to be Operation Rei-Go, for February 10th. It will have multiple ship rewards.
-A new Akizuki class will be available during the event.
-For those who don't have Graf Zeppelin, Mizuho, Akitsushima, and Amagi, they will reappear in the event.
-Valentine's Day seasonal voices will also arrive on February 10th.
-According to KanColle Style published in Jan 2016, they're preparing for a bit new things for the second half of this year.
-One new Spring Kanmusu will be implemented in the PS Vita's edition before her planned implementation in the browser game this Fall.
-There exists a plan to increase the variety of overseas ships in term of nationality and ship type.

Resources don't matter for clearing. You just need the minimum equipment and enough high level ships for fleet locking. There are even people who start events at 0 resources on purpose. I wouldn't suggest neglecting bucket stockpiling though.

Focus on getting ships.
Usually at least two ships are rewarded for clearing certain maps.
So if the last boss has a good ship reward (like Teruzuki) you should focus on doing him, if it's some worthless DD like during the Fall event you should focus on farming nodes where good event ships drop.

On the sortie page, a new world will appear at the bottom. This one will probably have 3-4 maps with unique new bosses, stricter compass requirements, and special rewards for clearing maps. For your first time, I'd advise waiting a few days for people to figure out the best way to clear maps.
Clearing is more important than farming, since some of the equipment rewards might never be available again and some of the new ships could take up to a year to come back. You can get all new ships on easy and most will come from clearing maps, but some might be drop only. Don't expect a lot of new ships this time though. A new Akizuki will likely be the reward for clearing the final map. You should definitely farm too, since events come with high drop rates, but wait until we find the good spots.
