Adding politics to touhou is like adding cayenne pepper to anything.
In 99% of all recipes, the additive (either politics or cayenne pepper) completely smothers all other tastes and usually winds up ruining the whole project, unless you really like cayenne pepper.

Yes it does. Everything goes through customs when it comes from outside the EU.
The only reliable method to avoid getting taxed is undervaluing but not every store does that. What some figure collectors do when they have to order from AmiAmi is order by proxy like with Japan shopping service or Big in japan and have them undervalue the package when they forward it to you. Its a little hassle and you have to pay proxy fees but they may be lower than the EU bullshit tax.
