I'm gonna have to go with this guy.

Looks like some kind of Omamori.
I still can't believe we don't have a dedicated tree board to help people with their questions. I'm not a tree expert, so unfortunately I can't even hazard a guess at the species or even the genus of those trees, but I do truly hope you find someone who can help you out.
Doesn't look like any tree I've ever seen. In any case, that tree in the background looks like a palm? Are there even palms in Japan? Don't think so, so you're posting some sandnigger area?

I figured there's no way he was talking about the palm tree, they're probably the most recognisable trees in the world. The tree in front of the red car is clearly the most prominent in the picture, he must be talking about that one.

The photo probably wasn't taken in Japan (wheel on wrong side, too many pickups, cars too colourful).

Figured Japanese people wouldn't have that annoying warning on the side mirror in English. Now that you mention the trucks, it might as well be burger land.

also the air looks too sandy, and it's in a wide open space and i have never seen these tree species in japan
a charm against traffic accident.
however,I think a charm don't have effect because I did a traffic accident in spite of having like that

this is incorrect. I have a charm and I have never been in an accident

Obviously it was taken in Japan or it would not be on /jp/
