There is a new imas game coming for ps4 soon, pretty sure it's gonna be focused on them like the rest of the mainline console games are. ML anime coming soon as well, so we'll most likely see them make appearances there. Likewise, they still have live concerts every year, so 765 is far from dead I think.

Yes, there's going to be new info on the PS4 game at the end of this month. They could still toss in some MLs or new girls if they wanted to, but they'll probably just save them for DLC rivals like in OFA.

Depends what you're interested in. The gameplay is easier than 2, but there's more variety in group conversations. The routes are fine, but are a bit lacking without the bonus DLC ones. The DLC ones are solid though and with new solo songs and outfits to boot. (that's probably why they're paid though)
There's also a new rival Leon but she seems pretty last minute as she was only announced two weeks before the game came out and is barely in the main game. She has more of a role in the DLC routes, but we don't really get any one on one with her. (she also doesn't have any casual clothes, she's always in her costume, even Jupiter in 2 had casual clothes)

It seems to be doing decently from what I can tell. It just had it's 1st live event around the same time CG had it's 3rd one and they're in the middle of publishing the first set of singles still.
I guess it's to be expected it wouldn't do as well when it's aimed at girls in a mostly male series. They don't really crossover with it like they do with 765 DS CG and ML either.
In other words it's doing okay, but it's still too soon to tell if it'll get more popular in the future or not.
