In my eyes third Zuiun 12 is better than third 41 proto. Proto is only used in support expeditions while Zuiuns are very important in 5-1 monthly, can be used on world 4 or 2-2 and I can easily see devs making some map where you can't bring carriers and will face small opposing AS like last E3. We can't exclude possibility Akitsu Maru would be banned next time.

Even if sub shows up on the way, I have no problem taking single attacks while Nagato starts the battle with AP cut-in and in Double Line Ooyodo oneshots the sub. If she were chuuha'd before boss, I would use Line Abreast. Yamashiro was flagship for protection I think.

I don't mind, but the next Kai II is always fun to look forwards to between events. Knowing both of the next ones will be DDs means that there's nothing to look forwards to for months.
