I liked the visual novel quite a bit actually.
That epilogue though really fucked me up on the inside.

Theories and whatnot are totally encouraged. Vrinda's tree is fascinating and the Hiroyuki Kanno wrote the scenario when he was just 22, same as me at my age. Wow. Truly inspiring for a sci-fi hentai writer, really.

Actually I take my word back, Sayless was the sexiest. Some of the art in this game is just gorgeous. They don't do them like this no more.
The remake looks like a disgrace. Not only the artstyle, but since Ryu Umemoto has passed on sadly, the soundtrack will be nothing like the original either.
Mio's route will now be replaced by tsundere queen, Rie Kugumiya. I don't know how I feel about the remake at all to begin with. For starters, it just does not feel as though there is any love poured into it.

But then again, thinking about it from a design point-of-view and having no knowledge on the franchise whatsoever, they certainly do look like the type of character designs which would look modern for today's standard's at least. But, from a standpoint of someone who is familiar with the franchise, I hate it. I finished YU-NO today, 100% completion, even viewed the true endings of Mio, Ayumi and Kanna. I loved it, and my heart has somewhat complex feelings towards the remake...Ah well, I'm sure once it comes out, we will all complain about it in unison, because is what /jp./ is truly about after all!

Going off on a bit of a tangent here, but Ryu Umemoto really outshines everyone else who was making music for the PC-98 sound chip. After playing YU-NO, I got interested in the music of that era, got the Japanese MDXWin player and 40k+ tracks of music to emulate.

I really liked YU-NO actually, I'm afraid the remake is going to fuck it up, especially in the music department, it won't be the same without a great soundtrack.
The original looks lame and the remake looks okay, but I'll probably skip it anyway.
