how can i loosen my USKOC's turntable? the screw holding it in is stripped to hell and i've tried rubbing wd-40 between the cracks, with varying results.
>>
>>14526018
Try songs with slower BPMs and doing continuous streams. As your ability to read improves, you'll be able to process step patterns and know how to execute them before it actually comes time to step with your feet. Playing becomes less reactive when you know where your feet go ahead of time and it will allow you to concentrate on hitting steps with precise timing. Patterns will get more complex as difficulty increases, and that's where techniques such as crossovers come into play, and technique is what it ultimately comes down to.

It says it right on the announcement page. Yes.

http://www.konamistyle.jp/sp/bemanifactory/index.html

7 keys + turntable, 4 function buttons, USB connection
Can swap buttons so that the turntable is on the right or left side depending on your play style

- Uses same switches as arcade buttons
- Positioning of buttons and turntable can be changed, buttons have the same height and spacing as the arcade
- Buttons light up the same way as in the arcade when you press them
- The ring around the turntable lights up
- Better build quality(?)

Apparently this isn't going to be a permanent item in their store or anything. It's made to order, and they're only taking orders until a certain date. The number of orders that they'll take, the price, and the deadline will be announced later.

It looks like a nice controller but it's probably going to be expensive.

ITG was never this difficult, DDR surpassed it many years ago. Then again, most ITG charts were very straightforward.
Why this board hates ITG though is beyond me. You're all going full weeb for sake of it without looking at the context. ITG was a huge step forward from pre-Supernova DDR and its >10 charts have aged very well, serving as a good introduction to DDR's later and harder equivalents.

It takes time to get to that point, and I'd argue that it's not mandatory either. Not all toprankers play with that low of a gn.

I can't improve in Pop'n.

I have a DAO, and I swear I can't improve my timing no matter what I do.

I can clear a couple 43s, like Warabestep, but I mantain a costant score of 75k-ish (SP) or 81k (Lapistoria).

My Greats are ALWAYS 3/5 of my Cools (So if I get 500 cools my greats are always around 300).
The thing is, it doesn't change no matter how much I lower the difficulty. Like, if I lower myself to a 40, a 38, hell EVEN A 36, the 3/5 ratio still remains.
I'm only better on absurdly easy stuff like sub-30s, and even then it feels like the Cool window is borderline non-existent.
How do I git gud?
>>
>>14533518
I average the same scores between 38 and 44~ as well (80-85K in SP) ignoring the odd songs with fucked up timing windows and/or charts (ie Big-Bang Stars EX, Percussive EX, etc.). Practicing more is really the only solution unless you come from a IIDX background (which is the only reason why I can get 80-85K on average).
>>
>>14533584
ITG was my first rhythm game (playing with feet, not stepmania), and then I moved onto Pop'n, then SM.

It's like I can't keep a consistent timing. I keep expecting the notes to fit the music, when I should be relying more on my eyes.

On my old screen i would get 90% greats and 10% cools, now that i have an arcade size TV with very little lag i get mostly Cools.
>>
I'm trying to set-up the latest bemanitools to work with my PS2 KOC and an USB adapter but it's not working... The device isn't recognised and no key will register when binding stuff
I could play Sirius back in the days fine with the same exact hardware and it's still working well when I test it using Windows's panel thing (it shows up as a generic USB game controller)
Any idea of what could be wrong?

I know it always gets shit on, but I have a lot of fun with osu. I'm terrible at streams, and a lot of the community is terrible, but I enjoy the game.

Is there a reason to not play only random when you're learning?
>>
>>14530463
I'm up to 3TB. ;3
>>
>>14536770
whats wrong with picking songs you like
>>
>>14536770
There's always going to be a push and pull between wanting to accomplish new things and wanting to raise your skill level. Playing the same song 5 times in a row isn't making me a better player, but sometimes I just want the FC. You should do whatever makes you have fun. If you have goals that are important to you, you just have to keep in mind that playing a certain way might not be leading you to make progress.
>>
>>14536780
>>14537037
Sorry, I meant the random mod, not random songs
>>
>>14537043
random prepares you for random mostly
some patterns are good to learn from random so you should do it a bit when you're learning 8-9s but in my experience above that it becomes a little impractical and "bad" randoms become very tedious.
>>
copula's songs go fucking ham on the turntable and i love it

also 90% of the songs are related to the train theme versus the like 5 time-related songs in pendual (which were mostly by the core bemani team anyway)
>>
>>14537061
It isn't something I should focus on then? I usually only play it when I'm playing the same song multiple times (like, third of fourth play in a row)
>>

>>
>>14537196

>>
>>14537043
I got what you meant, I just gave another example of something people do when they're going for a specific accomplishment instead of general skill improvement. It's good to use random if you're just trying to get better, but it's fine to turn it off when you're trying to get a new clear or whatever.
>>
Is there a list of all of the available e-amuse passes anywhere? Preferably with pictures.
I need to buy one online anyways so I might as well pick out and hunt for a nice one
>>
>>14536770
sometimes i find charts to actually have aesthetic appeall
random throws that out the window
>>
>>14536770
Because random isn't fun. Charts that are designed to have interesting, human-made patterns and go directly along with the music in aesthetically pleasing ways are fun.

In my eyes random is just a practice tool for grinding sessions, not actually playing and enjoying the game.
using random to jumble up a hard pattern and get clears is and will always be cheating
>>
>>14537647
your eyes and opinions are dumb you dork
>>
>>14537585
>>14537647
Thanks for the answers. I play very little of random for this exact reason, but every time I watch a good player streaming they play random, like, 50% of the time. I was wondering if that's why I'm improving so slowly
>>
>>14537678
It really can help you improve, but having fun is obviously more important than improving as fast as possible.
I'd argue that the progression is the most fun part of the game, so savoring it by not grinding through random is almost ideal

Random is good and you should probably just use it on everything once you're breaking into 10s or so. I use random on like 99% of songs and it's fun and cool.

>play mostly on a home setup
>go to arcade, gradually increase offset up to +1.5 and still get way more fasts than slows
How do I fix this? Should I offset my home setup in the opposite direction so I get used to the real thing's timing?
>>
>>14537856
SDVX is so normie friendly that it was my first rhythm game

easy to get into, relatively intuitive, whoosh gimmicks make it less "hardcore button mash" than IIDX at first glance

It also has cute grills
>>
>>14537932
When are you going to AAA Cuvelia.
>>
>>14537960
Gonna perfect it on pop'n first. IIDX is too hard.
>>
>>14537937
Arcade machines and monitors are weird, just do what works for you. I'd only recommend changing your home setup if you actually can't move the offset high enough on AC to fix your ratio.
>>
>>14537875
I have, but they're only in the song jackets and in the attract screen.
>>
>>14537947
what i mean is that Museca is even fucking easier, all you need to learn to do is flick and push, it's miles easier to read too.
>>
>>14537779
Innocent Walls hyper
>>
>>14537976
Alright. I just feel like something's off because at home I play on +0.3, at my usual arcade I play at -0.2, and on the new machine I just tried I had to go way up to around +1.5 to get equal fasts/slows.

I'm pretty bad at timing in general so I'm thinking I might just be fluctuating really heavily, the machine was also pretty quiet
>>
i wanna pop'n prim's pussy
>>
>>14538435
You're fine. Every setup is different! I play +0.3 at home and played -1.5 at the local arcade, then switched to -1.0 when the keys were replaced, and was -0.5 or so when I visited R1SJ. Timing adjust is implemented for exactly this reason.

i have to play Osu with a iidx controller to get used to CN heavy charts.

Alright ordered my fp7 and didn't get an email with a receipt, off to a good start. Hopefully it just shows up at my doorstep in like a week

>can't handle hold notes

Y'all 2dicks players are pretty next level, huh? Still having fun with that turntable despite it being literally just another button that's annoying to hit and basically defining the term "cheap gimmick"?
>>
>>14538777
Not him but I just don't find hold notes very fun
Same in other rhythm games

>variety is no longer variety, it's only "variety" when a new mechanic completely takes over and is used excessively
>>
>>14538867
Yeah let's add overused BPM changes and stops like DDR in IIDX too variety is good keep it comin
>>
>>14538867
You are aware that hold notes have been in the game for almost 7 years now, right?

I like charge notes, they're fun (◡ ‿ ◡ )

jesus christ i loathe those sudden BPM changes (or rather what it does to scrolling speed). why is this a thing?
>>
>>14539095
honestly in DDR I'm pretty sure it's money making scheme

dumb BPM changes = needing to memorize chart = needing to memorize = playing the game more = putting more money into arcade machines
>>
>>14539095
It's pretty much pointless in IIDX since you can just nudge the lane cover to reset it, so I don't understand why they don't just implement bpm fixing
>>
>>14539095
I'm okay with them in DDR, since they aren't too extreme, but in IIDX songs like Fascination Max are fucking impossible, they go from way too slow to so fast that the notes are basically invisible.
>>
Why does people prefer the shitty mayumi's prim songs when her songs as mayumi are better?, like this one, is so good.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAJSN70Hl6o
>>
>>14539122
Where are you getting the idea that anyone prefers it? I constantly see people shitting on prim, I don't think I've ever seen a positive comment
Fly you to the star is one of my favorite songs in IIDX, both musically and for the charts
>>
>>14539122
So mayumi is mayumi and prim is mayumi singing with a forced screeching animu girl voice?
>>
>>14539127
I have read people on a lot of places that says they love prim songs, but never anything about mayumi.

>>14539134
Basically yes.
>>
>>14539122
Speaking about Mayumi, why didn't anyone tell me about this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNWOYo0_HxQ
>>
>>14539122
I also really like her touhou stuff
>>
Does anyone have the screencap of Mayumi talking about the pworld shutdown on facebook?q
>>
>>14539122
I only liked mermaid girl, oboro, sin&punishment and izayoi setuna. The majority of mayumi songs are pretty generic pop. The 2hu stuff were even worse
>>
Red Zone is the best song from IIDX
>>
>>14539095
I find they can be aesthetically pleasing sometimes (if used at the right time/not overused).

o2jam is especially cancer with it
>>
Are there any other purely piano songs like Avant Guarre or that valse song from Sirius? (ワルツ第17番 ト短調"大犬のワルツ")
>>
>>14539202
Wait, she said something about it? On Facebook, even? Was it good or bad?
>>
What's the deal with the stepmania community and furries? It seems like almost every player is one
>>
>>14540231
pretty much all the osamu kubota songs
>>
Learning to play pop’n music with an asc is frustrating.
>>
>>14540265
normal people just play ddr
furries can't do that in their suits of degeneracy so they have to play stepmania with their fingers
>>
Cleared my third 11 Rock Da House to join my kecak and afro knuckle clear.

Also got Raison d'être easy clear with sub 90 miss. I think if I grind it a bit I can normal clear it.

>>14537678
It definitely helps with clearing, especially when your biggest issue is reading weird patterns. I feel it's the biggest thing that helped me clear harder 10s and easy 11s because I was bad at chord heavy stuff with odd chords.

However as already brought up it ruins a lot of fun in a lot of songs. However some songs (golden cross) is even MORE fun with r-random.
>>
Is free leech still going on?
>>
>>14540612
What are you talking about? Furries have been a part of bemani culture for as long as it has existed. I blame pop'n. Also how would furries play keyboard Stepmania anyway when they're in a fursuit?
>>
>>14540808
Yes
The free ratio from everyone is amazing. It's like a christmas present.
>>
>>14540251
Yeah, she was really supportive and saying it was a sad day for the western community which means just as much as the eastern community
Mayumi is a sweetheart and I love her

It might have been twitter or something, but I remember seeing it posted here around when it happened

if you guys have psun ids consider adding reviews to http://statistik.benhgreen.com/
together we can create a better, english clickagain

I don't think the click again isn't that off really. It's a pretty good indicator. The issue is it isn't specific enough on what gives it the difficulty.
>>
can you change offset in SDVX like you can in IIDX?
>>
>>14542874
in GW yes

hold down start and 3/9 on the numpad IIRC
>>
>>14542882
This is what I need in SDVX. My setup is pretty much unplayable right now. Having the option to offset, would be marvelous.

pop'n is a lot more fun with a proper controller rather than a minicon!!!
>>
If I buy sanwa OBSC buttons with a black frame for my arcade stick, will the buttons look as sexy as white sanwa IIDX keys
>>
>>14543085
I was playing with the minicon yesterday, it's so shit holy fuck. I'm really considering getting a full sized one.
>>
>>14543089
Unless you make the whole arcade stick IIDX themed it will just look like every other arcade stick but with white and black buttons.
>>
>>14543120
But IIDX keys are just as attractive alone as they are in the controller
>>
Why are Koreans better than everyone else at rhythm games?
>>
>tfw almost want to quit being NEET just to get a IIDX controller

How do you think we have the money to drop $100 on a round 1 every month. Jobs suck but they make go world round.

I'm an overnight cleaner, while not the best paying job in the world still nets me $2k a month after tax which is perfect because I'm a terrible child who still lives with his parents. Aside from groceries, and help with some utilities I don't have anything aside from student loans to pay.
