The key is the Kumiromi statues. Every 72 hours you have a 75% chance of getting a herb seed from them. So the strategy is to get multiple of them by using the Little Sister turn-in rewards. With 10 statues and a time passing tactic like reading skillbooks in Snow/HeavyRain/Ether you can get hundreds of herb seeds very quickly.
This gets even more ridiculous once you're strong enough to kill Kumiromi's lvl 250 god disciple in Lost Irvina. The Scissors of Kumiromi you get is a passive item that ensures crops regrow every time. With that the only time you lose herb plants is due to the small % chance of them withering.

You should be able to do that. Just make a backup of your save file before installing Elona Custom. In fact, get used to backing up your save every now and then and preferably on an external storage device. You never know when a bug, HD crash, or whatever will show up.

I didn't see anything about martial arts in the patch notes after the multi-strike update, so presumably it still exists. Looking at the formulas, martial arts should be extremely strong then. With enough training it gets massive dice, great accuracy, and 50% penetration.

Nope. Those town features are currently unimplemented and have been since vanilla Elona. Maybe Ano will get around to fleshing them out someday but I wouldn't hold my breath for it. He seems to be focusing on other things such as slowly adding to the story and hammering out bugs. Not that this is a bad thing of course. I would like the town stuff implemented one day as well as having the moongates work for people in the west so we can visit each others houses.

The problem with Martial Arts is that its damage multiplier is lousy and lags behind weapon users. Due to this weapon users outshine pure martial artists for a very long time. Hopefully the multi strike helps things out but despite this and as was posted by other anons, nobody seems to be commenting on how amazing their martial arts character is and the high level people I've seen posting in these threads all use magic and weapons to dish out their damage.
Every now and then you'll hear someone start up a martial arts character but they'll eventually find out about shining wave and start relying on it. Unfortunately, this leads to people neglecting their training of the martial arts skill. Shining Wave while strong at first, will not carry you through the rest of the game by itself and eventually you never hear from those characters/people again.

Actually i was pretty careful about it, but i was deep in a dungeon and went out of food so i took out my 4 meals out of cooler box, was in combat so didnt have time to identify them.

Luckily, now you have an easy solution, since you can just eat cargo food in dungeons.So Id just recommend that you just stock up on a metric shit ton of them. Maybe even shell out a few plat to increase your cargo holding capacity.

Try some of the things under "Troubleshooting" on the blog post. Though if you've had no problems with previous builds, I don't know why you'd suddenly have on now. You could also try downloading the hsp recompiler and compiling it yourself to see if that might work for you. Just open the source.hsp file that comes in the zip, hit Ctrl+F9 to compile, then use the genereated hsptemp.exe that it generates like you would elona.exe.

Nah, the secret to leveling magic device like crazy is alchemical rain. So long as you have the platinum to keep your potential high enough to gain 0.001 experience per target affected, you can gain a level every like 4-5 casts. I like to use alcohol for it since it doesn't have an animation (if you try to use a healing potion with 100 summoned monsters around you it'll take 5 minutes to go through all the effects).

just to continue on his post, you can train perception through detection. For some reason, really high level nefia dungeons spawn equally high level booby traps, and they give A LOT of experience to detection. So if you can find one of those gravity floors with the floor covered in traps, you can generally gain like 10-20 levels of detection and a handful of perception.

Id imagine tonfa's would be the best. Shielding tonfa for defense, and maybe claws/tonfas with proximity assist for offense? With maxed armor upgrades on them I think you can get a sizable flat damage increase which will be multiplied by martial arts/tactics multiplier. And if you really wanna go crazy you could do something with alot of arms, like a mutant, and get +20 damage for each arm from the claws. Maybe?

Yea I've never liked the idea of the man-cthulu thing either. If you want, you could always take the moderation approach and do like maybe 2 arms. And yea, shining wave is pretty awful after a certain point. Hard to upkeep the stamina without weapons especially, and for long term spelunking you probably want to use it for swarm and shadowstep instead.

For me Darkness bolt, Chaos Ball(with control magic) and Teleport are an absolute must, especially for dealing with mobs( mana burst just leaves me too vulnerable against powerful enemies). That way I can rekt their shit up, quickly get out of their range of attack and have my pets mow down what few stragglers come following after.
And of course Healing Rain - for when you have too many pets like I do.

Yes, increase your cooking and try using fertilizer on your plants to give them plus bonuses. You can sell each cooked food for 2-5k gold eventually.

Ano has closed most of the loopholes in terms of getting uber-level pets, but one remains: adventurers.
If you get very high dungeon levels and keep killing off the old crop of adventurers, the new ones that spawn will grow more and more powerful. Eventually you can get one with 2k stats and skills.
After you've hired them 3 times, you can make them into pets.

The first order of business when starting a character is securing gold. So find something that you're good at and generate gold. By lv 30ish or so you should have enough gold saved up to buy a castle if you were diligent in this. Fill the castle with magic vendors and raise each of their shop ranks to at least 150. You'll start seeing them carry potions of potential at that rank. Buy them and then bless the stack. About 9 or 10 blessed potions will get all your attributes to superb potential from hopeless. Eating pets cooked food can reduce the amount of potions of potential you'll need and get their cooking skill high enough and you may reach a point where you don't even really need those potions anymore. This is assuming you constantly go to bed at the right time to eat stuff from your pet.

If you can, try and find some piggy banks to store it in. Honestly, one of the better ways to save money is to spend it on upgrading your gear. Well, spend it on something not-expensive that will give some form of return. Do you have a museum, a farm, a storage house, gear enchantment? Investing is coo and all, but only if you can afford the things that you unlock.
It sounds to me like your actual problem is not money but learning the game well enough to not die so often. Get a modest supply of steady cash flowing in and go from there.
This is where my attitude got my character currently. If this is too lame by your standards, then ignore my advice. Disclaimer: my android does 90% of the heavy lifting, her stats are 50% higher than mine. We share potions.

What's your PV atm? Honestly, if you're around level 1-30, upgrading all of your gear with enchantments and blessed waters to get around to 150 PV. Then you can focus on filling in important resists that you encounter alot of, like fire and cold, and mind. If you can, try to stack as much magic resist because they cover all elements (at a lower amount) but is fairly efficient. If you're dying alot, you're losing alot of experience anyways, so theres no real point in min maxing potentials. That sort of thing is mainly to make the long grind more time efficient, and you dont really need to grind stats and levels until you need to beat a big baddie boss (like the last boss of the first act). People on here kind of put too much emphasis on early game investing and potentials but honestly that comes second to surviving most of the random crap that you encounter in this game.

Oh another thing that I remembered is that you probably lose an obscene amount of money to random thieves grabbing your gold. I'd recommend putting some real effort into killing random beggars around the world to try to find that amulet that they drop; I forget what its called, but it's immensely important early game. If you run out of town beggars you can try looking in party time quests, and occasionally you'll find big packs of them. If you don't mind losing a little bit of fame, then you can spend your time killing the beggars (and other profitable npcs).
