Let's have a thread about kawaii music. List some of your favorite artists or albums. Whichever genre or source!

I like to listen to it really loud when doing project crunches. How about you anon?
>>
I like to listen to Touhou orchestrals by 流派未確定 while studying. They are very beautifully arranged, especially the orchestral version of Touhou 11.
>>
>>14466641
I can't find it on what.cd under Ryuuha Mikakutei nor 流派未確定. Bummer.

Touhou violin & piano arranges by tamusic are great. Piano only albums by ぴずやの独房 are also neat.
>>
I listen to a lot of Shibayan, Halozy, and Thanatos.
>>
Tbh favourite circle is Thousand Leaves. Their stuff is great.
>>
>>14466611
>Foobar! Awesome.
Very interesting set up!

Does it read your folder structure on the left? Or does it work with tags like mine?
Also, I am kinda lost how the middle section works.
>>
>>14466460
Any help from here?
>>
Downloaded some stuff and put them in my phone. While I was listening I stumbled upon this amazing song, but the file has no additional info about it and I can't find anything on google.

Song file is named jitterin jin - lavender. Great band, tried translating the name and comparing song names in albums, but I can't find anything. Don't have access to my torrents too.

Any help?
>>
>>14466970
Thanks! I've used this setup for many years now.

Yeah, the left reads my folder structure and i have filtering by tags on the bottom right (Filters).
Middle sections is just a standard queue. Which can be filled in any possible way - middle clicking something, drag-dropping, etc.

>>14467057
I'll see if I can find it in a moment.
>>
>>14467057
there's a flac of it on what.cd. want me to grab it for you?
>>
>>14467136
Yeah, that would be great!
>>
>>14467141
Upload will be done in an hour.

>can't find anything on google
Have you tried reading the results? They're on Amazon, Last.fm, wikipedia, and allmusic just in the top results. I will give you the fact that lavender as a single doesn't show up without a lot of work.

/jp/ might know them for this track (or its original mix/vocaloid covers):

Thing is I have to search on my phone and it's especially slow and hard. Don't even know if the translation I did was correct, since I don't recognize most kanji. Was hoping I'd get lucky since I'm sure I found the song in one of these threads. Would have found it ages ago if I ad access to my torrents.

Thanks for the reply though.
>>
>>14467332
If you can grab the album art, you might have an easier time just uploading to google image search.. if you get the right cover.

There was one vietnamese music site that came up in the results for lavender, but it is using the cover art for Punch Out, their 1990 album.
>>
>>14467363
Thing is I found some stuff, but its not the same song at all. The file I have was apparently missnamed. Cant find it by searching the lyrics Im hearing too. This is suffering.

Try soundhound or shazam? Soundhound has a pretty good detection of Japanese stuff.
>>
>>14467109
I have my stuff stored in the generic 'music/genre/artist/album' way but exluded it entirely from foobars interface.

Mine relies entirely on tags. It took ages to come up with a capable and well designed structed, let alone tagging everything but it was worth it. Its incredibly accessible.

Here you can see how I browse through everything via the filters on top. And they all work with each other in every direction. Even able to select a certain date-range.

I can easily set up my own radio for american/english 70s rock hits, all artists, rating 4 and above set to random play.

Foobar is just amazing. The ways you can set it up really makes it stand out!
>>
Where do you guys listen to music? Ive used youtube but so many of the songs i listen to are removed or unavailable in the US now...
>>
>>14468011
It's worth downloading music and just having it on your computer for this reason. It can be irritating to start a collection this way because (presumably) initially you'll have a ton of music you'll want to get and it's a hastle getting it, but it's worth it in the long run since everything you need will just be there and it's easy enough to update your collection whenever you come across something new.

>>
>>14468085
Wouldnt it be easy for us to share music?
You request something, someone that has it uploads it and presents his collection for a share if there is anything the other wants.

There are many quick and temp file hosting servies aswell.
>>
I've been listening to DDBY recently, could you guys suggest me something similar? no vocals please. I like the jazz fusion style, but calm piano arragements and folk rock is good too.
>>
>>14468085
What do you use to download? I'm using flvto but each song I download is like 10mb. Is that standard? My playlist on youtube is 500+ songs so do I just need a new HDD for music?
>>
>>14466611
Im listening my music every day, when im learning japanese (i have specific playlist for it). And from these kawaii ones, I like Ren'ai Circulation by Hanazawa Kana or Happy Halloween MARIA by Horie Yui from Umineko.

I would like to get some similar kawaii ones, but dont know any good, so if anyone can suggest some, i would be glad.

Also, Burning Love デ Get Your Heart!! by 岩杉夏 from kancolle is awesome track and one which I recently found by Hanazawa Kana おやすみ、また明日 - thats calm, slow and beautiful song.

And you have a good taste OP.

>>14466641
Where can I get those orchestrals? Nyaas are dead.
>>
>>14468272
I have 3634 tracks, and these takes 22,9 GB. All in mp3.
>>
are we posting foobars
>>
I've been listening to denpa-ish stuff for a while, and recently started branching into hardcore and vocaloid stuff.
>>
>>14468386
Which skin is that, anon?
Does it come in black?
>>
Recently all I've been listening to is Vocaloid and OP/ED + character songs.

I used to have almost nothing but Touhou music library, but stopped listening to most of it a few years ago.
>>
>>14468429
my own and no because i hate dark themes lol
>>
>>14467884
Can you give me your foobar theme, anon? Really love it. <3
>>
>>14468261
Definitely my favourite group.
Some other jazzy group that I like are 東京アクティブNEETs (no vocal).

You can also test Foxtail-Grass Studio, Unity-Gain, S N U G S P A C E, ついったー東方部. These circles are great but I dunno if some albums got vocals (haven't listened all of their stuff yet) and honestly nothing can stand my happiness level when listening to Cafe de Touhou.

For some folk I listen to Floating Cloud. Pretty neat but I do not recommend listening to all discography in one shot, you'll find that songs are quite similar. You can also try Casket.

zytokine, digital wing, halozy, eastnewsound, alstroemeria, fge, undead corp, rd sounds, tumeneco, felt, hatsunetsumiko

Those are my favorite circles. But I always set the playback to random when I'm busy playing.

Its entirely self build, not a theme.
I have no clue how to put this into a theme though.
And explaining it would take multiple screenshots... ugh.

>>
>>14468261
I agree with the other anon who responded. You should also try out the 東方猫鍵盤 series of albums from 豚乙女 which feature vocal-less piano arrangements of their previous songs.

Give the albums INVERSIONS & DIMENSIONS and Shrine Maiden's Voyage a shot if you're liking the Cafe de Touhou albums. Both are completely by tanigon, who is on a few DDBY albums. His style is more lounge than jazz fusion though.

OrangeCoffee and flap+frog are probably worth giving a shot as well as Syncopation Shot #01 and Syncopation Shot #02 from rythmique.
>>
I've been listening to the Sakura Taisen Soundbox songs.
They're pretty good.

Also some stuff by Haruka Shimotsuki.

best part about foobar is the custom global hotkeys. not sure if other music players have those built in these days but it's so convenient. here's my haxor theme just because.

also, anyone seen Rolling Contact - Out of the Box uploaded anywhere? really loving Amane's work lately.

I just dont like foobar. That design always reminds me linux and I dont like linux.
I was always WMP user with plus addon, cause its simplicity. But it was still somehow slow, so I gone to MusicBee and im quite happy with that. But there are still some things I dont like about MusicBee, and that is unnecessary complexity. - but fuck it there is no better alternative for WMP user anyway. If there is, tell me.
>>
>>14474428
foobar's looks are highly customizable.

However if you're looking for an extremely small player that looks nice, and all you care about is playing music. Old version of winamp is probably good for you. I use version 2.95, personally.

My music bee in picture.
I just installed that foobar after I had seen some screenshots, and it really can look nice, but looks like you must spend few hours to customize it.

And I dont want any small player just for playing music. I want to have there library, some tag editor, customizable hotkeys, thumbnail view of my albums, playlist support, but I want it to be almost ready for use, where you need just few minutes to customize it.

What are some good, fairly popular indie circles or artists that don't do Touhou?
>>
>>14474620
Dont know if they are popular, but...
SHIKI - Trance, he is doing his own original music, try Jade Star or Lapis.
Nizigen Comp - I heard only one kancolle album from them 艦隊こんぴれーしょん, which I would call "weird shit" dont know about their other albums.
LHschiptunes - This guy is doing music for keygens and installers of cracked games, his LHS-RLD10 is a good stuff.

I just got foobar and holy sit, all my music is either tagged incorrectly or not at all. Is there a database I can add to freedb tagger that covers doujin music?
>>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UZFULphdeg

Isn't there a doujin track with vocals that has this exact same melody? The chorus goes like the opening tune.
Please help me remember, I don't know what track it was and it's bothering.

I bet it was Syrufit or alst or something along those lines.

musicbee looks fancy and I'd like to try using it but as far as I know it doesn't have plugin support for game music formats like SPC or GSF or a way to choose an SF2 bank to play MIDIs with, which are really nice things to have. I've barely customized foobar at all but it's nice and clean and gets the job done.
