Moka Choco's and blond haired heroine's VA whose name I can't remember voices make my penis engine go so it's good enough to skim through.
I might be biased towards the latter though for voicing my favorite big fat cat tat idol.
Just dropping in to mention that Hikari is possibly the most beautiful name known to men.
>>14466344
I'm interested but waiting for the second half before trying it
What broke me on HatsuMira was the okama character. It may be superficial of me, but putting a character like that into the game, to me, was like Frontwing giving up on actually writing a worthwhile story. It's just not funny, and completely undermines whatever atmosphere you had built up. Not to be disrespectful towards trans people, or whatever, but it seriously is just unbelievable that they'd put a muscular dude, give him make up, and have him refer to himself as a girl, and then have him interact with the MAIN VILLAIN as an equal confidant. What the absolute fuck? Imagine if Kircheis from LOGH had been a twink who's whole character was the butt of a gay joke, with all of his dialogue centering around him being a twink. Absolutely ridiculous. Frontwing just didn't take the game seriously, I guess, despite obviously trying to jam the game with emotional weight/depth. There's ways to write a good story with heavy comedic elements, but I really don't think an okama character was the right way, at all, for this game.
>>14466954
Copypasta out of nowhere.
Finished hatsumira's yukikaze route, it was so-so. Not as full of bullshit as Grisaia was, but still a lot of it. Game would have been much better with a stronger emphasis on geopolitics and military operation, but it would have required someone that can actually write. Also it really sucks when characters are put on a bus never to reappear for no reason, which happen a lot.
>>14467001
>but it would have required someone that can actually write
I fully agree with this sentiment.
I was worried while playing the game that I was just being obnoxious or too critical of the writing, so it's reassuring to see it be panned almost universally.
>>14467015
The quality of the writing itself is good, it's definitely readable, but they went for a pretty light almost LN like style that end up making for a pretty shallow experience.
It basically feels like it's for kids
>>14467028
I meant writing in a more broad abstract way, not in a technical, line-to-line proficiency kind of way.
>>14467035
I understand what you meant and agree, I just wanted to make things clearer
>>14467028
Honestly most eroge feel like they're written for kids
>>14467061
It's more like most eroge writer are the immature type with no life experience.
Kind of like what is happening with LN and the whole narou nonsense full of 俺TUEEEEE shit because 2010's kids are pampered and don't know what effort mean
Though in Hatsumira's case it's more like that the game is supposed to be a hommage to Zero no Tsukaima and they probably dumbed it down for Steam
>>14466657
Really? Several people thought it was worse than the first one, some others thought it was better. I liked it myself.
>>14467069
Well, I haven't heard any of the people saying they thought it was better, is all. Which isn't a good sign for me, who did not much like the first one.
>>14466954
I didnt read HatsuMira yet, but most of people are saying almost same thing with you; seems like the game couldnt decide that if its going to be serious or funny.
>>14467119
Where are you reading these things? I don't go to 2ch (too lazy to figure out which browser to use, don't like being unable to post w/o a vpn), maybe I should start.
>>14467069
I think its definitely worse than first one. Common route is worse than original game for sure, hell there wasnt even any gekka vs tendou subjects. Half of the common route was Michi and other half was tease towards the Alicetia, which is dumbest thing in 2015 imo. Also Kazuma was a better mc than Daichi, and last but not least half of the heroines ( Tateha & Mashiro) is just a bad replica of original heroines.
Yeah its still kinda enjoyable, Alicetia was seriously cute and Usagi's route was pretty good, but minus points are bigger than plus points for me.
>>14467147
I dont go to 2ch as well, I'm just lurking between EGS, eroge blogs, twitters etc.
>>14467161
What are some good eroge blogs? Particularly those talking about HatusMira. I'm a bit familiar with goldensneer and omochikaeri but not much else.
>>14466954
Okama characters don't have anything to do with the story. Subahaibi had an Okama character. but I do really hate this type of characters, and prefer the game without it of course.
>>14467189
I know it's superficial and not evident of the whole story; it was just the straw that broke the camels back. I knew he was going to be "the main villain" of the second chapter, or even longer, and I really just had no interest in spending any more time reading his lines or lines about him.
>>14467173
Dude you are reading english blogs, try reading japanese review ones. You can find pretty easilty with google, I dont think there is any english blog which talks about Hatsumira to be honest.
>>14467209
I'm not familiar with the Japanese internet, is all, so I don't spend time there. I guess I need to break my virginity eventually.
>>14467222
You can start by checking EGS's reviews, which is easiest to find.
>>14467232
I've been doing that for awhile. I just googled 果つることなき未来 感想 and am rolling with what I find.
>>14467207
About Hatsumira, I did read some parts of the trial version, while it was fun at first, I got bored really quickly and skipped through it. I really liked the final part where the MC talks about his past and his best friend with his little sister and how he went into a sucidical attack, this part especially was pretty good and has emotional impact in it. Does the full game have more flashbacks like this? I may play the full thing because of it.
>>14467242
>while it was fun at first, I got bored really quickly and skipped through it.
This is EXACTLY how I felt.
The beginning was a pretty fun ride but it just lasts so long.
As for flashbacks, in the first chapter, there are a couple 40-line flashbacks briefly describing why he became pilot, but nothing substantial at all. It's definitely not a big part of the main game.
>>14467286
>It's definitely not a big part of the main game.
Well, that's too bad. But Iam kinda sure it will play a big role at least at the final parts of the game. Anyway Hatsumira gave me the above average moege feel about it, if you read it as a side game between the next big releases, Iam sure you will enjoy it more.

The MC lives a normal life until one day he's attacked by a succubus. His childhood friend saves him and he discovers that she's a half-succubus. I think she was weakened because she refuses to hunt humans because of her morals as a human. She and MC have sex so she can regain her powers to fight the other succubus.
This is all I vaguely remember. I searched for the tag succubus on vndb for hours with no luck

I don't expect it to, I've just read enough at this point that I just want to know the climax of the story. All of this undead stuff is putting me to sleep
>>14470934
I think people unfairly hate that one because it uses a full on moe style. I think its fine, but Mio's head looks weird in both versions. I think they tried copying the head shape a little too much and should have just changed them. Also they don't have shadows because they don't have any sort of lighting. Even their hair isn't shiny.
>>14471090
>Also they don't have shadows because they don't have any sort of lighting

>>14471090

What's the most comfy animated dialog widget?
>>14471106

I wasn't implying that. It's just that instead of merely having less shadows, they just didn't bother giving them any sort of light effect.

I heard a lot of praise for Fujisaki Ryuuta so I don't understand how he fucked this up so bad (he did common + yukikaze route for hatsumira).
>>14471658
Please tell me that the rest of the route isn't about how bad this event was and such, a death toll is all that's needed not 8 hours of usinga in game event to indirectly complain about WW2
I haven't been to these threads in a while, how's that Hatsumira garbage? As shit as expected?
>>14471669
>indirectly complain about WW2
So is one (ore more) of the writers being a ネトウヨ true? I thought it was a joke or Japanese being oversensitive. I don't feel like reading Hatsumira just to check this.
>>14471691
Not terrible, but disappointing I guess.
>>14471658
>>Fujisaki Ryuuta
I dont know if he has written any light novels or something so he might be good at those, but at visual novel industry he didnt write anything worth of praise for 7-8 years. All he did was a couple parts of Grisaia, and even those wasn't that great, just decent.
He had a big chance for proving himself at Hatsumira, and I think he already failed at that. ドラクリウス was a popular chuunige in old days though, maybe he is good at those type of games. I never bothered with it since I'm not good with all that gore / madness type games.
>>14471704
Let's put it this way, I could see the dialogue I'm reading right now be directly applied to the bombing in Japan. They even go out of their way to mention the land itself is scarred and won't be able to be used for decades, even the survivors are slowly dying because the residue.
>>14471691
It had the potential to be alright but they simply choose the wrong person/people to write this kind of story.
>>14471736
This takes the cake
一郎: こんなのはもう戦争じゃない, 一方的な虐殺だ
>>14471735
I read this:
>Fujisaki Ryuuta (Draculius, main for Grisaia, other random shit) - Fujisaki is fucking out of his goddamn mind moreso than any other writer, even Watanabe, and is fucking hilarious in the process. I'd be tempted to put his stuff from Grisaia in A rank but Grisaia itself is a pretty meh story propped up almost entirely by the prose/humor/characters so I can't really give him that high in good faith, I guess you could say his writing lacks depth in that sense. But if you're looking for a hilarious writer who knows how to make his text interesting then Fujisaki should be near the top of your list.
And so thought he was pretty good. But then, I read Hatsumira and was disappointed.
>>14471691
It's by Frontwing, what do you think? I don't even know why there was expectation around it at all.

No one is defending America here.
The only victims in a war are civilians.
Both America, Japan and Nazi Germany were huge monsters who wanted to control the world and were willing to do anything.
I dislike it both when Americans *or* Japanese act like their country was the victim, or the voice of justice and benevolence back then.

>>14472029
Luckily, nothing America did comes even close to being as evil as Nanking/the fucking Holocaust so they get a leg up on the scale of morality.
Every country has interests when they go to war. Those interest are never humanistic even if the official propaganda tells something different. UK is probably the worst offender since they literally hid for 5 years before they came rushing in and kicking an enemy which was already beaten, only to claim victory in the most pompous way possible until today.
The only real victim (and victor) of WW2 was the Soviet Union.

>>14472063
I'm pretty sure that most of the shit that happened during WW2 (or any war ever, really) because of the aggressors.
We wanted to stay neutral because of the shitstorm that was WW1, the NSDAP agreed, then they went back on it and invaded. We eventually drafted a larger percentage of our men than most other countries and still got wrecked in 18 days because we still have a small overall population and our military equipment was garbage.
The civilian population fought back plenty as well. Several relatives of mine (including my great-grandfather) were part of the Witte Brigade (as you can probably tell, that's "white brigade"), providing intel for British soldiers.

It was definitely great, until the common route ended. When it attempted a more serious tone it lost most of its quality.
>Soldier protagonist in a fantasy setting
This one does apply, although it has done before with varying degrees of success and failure, much like other settings it depends entirely on execution.
I feel like everyone who hyped this was just entirely based on Grisaia's perceived greatness, even though the settings are completely different.

Speaking of Monobeno, I went there last weekend.
Pretty nice. I wasn't able to go everywhere though, there are very few bus lines running during the day and I only had few hours to see as much as I could. If you want to see the Monobeno Shrine, it's like 7 kilometres on foot from the nearest bus station.
To show you something, here's the Tosa-Yamada station, from the first scene in the VN.

Has anyone here even played any of the previous ones?
I can understand them changing the art for Yu-No because I'd honestly be shocked if any original assets still exist at this point in time, and the art style would repulse the target audience for being "too old" but they could have at least gone with something more fitting.
Where to get Hatsumira OST rips? I've tried putting bgm.int in crass and AE, but it doesn't work.

Thanks anon

I used exkifint and it seemed to work. For some reason, there's two .ogg files named BGM[number], and other music is assorted in various weird types of files with weird filenames.

For a moment I thought someone is working on an English patch for this, then I remembered that there are Engrish in the game.

空色イノセント
It was released today in Japan, I hope someone let us know when it's out in nyaa.

According to early reviews there's much less story and banter in 3 compared to 1 and 2 so it's more of a standard nukige now. Welp.
Anyone played the clochette's new game yet? I really like the art (yay no balloons!) i need some input from the awesome community that is jaypee
>>14471829
80 is the median score. It got 75 on average which is petty meh. Personally i would rather look at the average score since it is more accurate. For example Sakura no Uta has a median score of 92, but the average score is 89.
>>14474678
The change in art is the very reason why I didn't try it.
>>14474649
That's a little disappointing to hear but I doubt it will end up being bad enough to just be a standard nukige. Even the worse entry in the overall series is better than a standard nukige
>>14474696
Different strokes for different folks i guess =D
>>14474686
I never understood this. What's the difference between median and average score?
>>14474678
No balloons, no interest.
>>14474482
>>14474488
That was fast, thanks!
I have been looking forward for this since I played the trial in august.
>>14474678
New art is shit and the story doesn't sound really appealing. I'll pass.

Median is the middle number of the data. Average is the sum of the total divided by the amount of numbers in the data. The median is very flawed because there might be a huge jump in the middle of the data. EXAMPLE : 61,62,63,90,91,92,93 is the data. The Median is 90 but the average is 79.
>>14474711
The average (mean) is the sum of all values divided by the number of values
The median is the middle one out of all values (or the sum of the two middle ones divided by two in the case of an even number of values)
Median is better for ignoring extreme values but can give a very skewed view when the sample size is small.
>>14474747
>The median is very flawed
It's not that it's flawed, it's just not meant to be used on its own. The median is important because comparing it to the average tells you how much the average is skewed by extremes. Like, in your example, the median being so much larger than the average indicates that there's an extreme drop off in the data, wherein the majority of scores lie on the higher side.

200 ~ 90s, 80 ~ 80s, 5 ~ 0-30s.
>>14474678
Been playing it on and off pretty slowly. The change in art is probably a downgrade, but I wasn't that into the previous art.
I've found the writing and characters to be a lot of fun, the setting is nice, and they don't try and go too deep into time travel bullshit. The feeling of cultural differences is pretty good, and the humor was decent, but there's not a whole lot. Seeing the heroines and the MC open up to each other and start from strangers and become friends and then into lovers is always a plus in my book, and it's done that well.
Sure the art isn't amazing, but I think the writing is much improved over the previous ones (I had zero interest what so ever in the story or characters of Sakigake, outside of Ouka because she was cute.)
Does anyone have a working link to 信天翁航海録?
>>14474838
It's in the lairsoft pack on nyaa.

Anyone played Maggot Baits yet? It's getting surprisingly good ratings.
>>14475123
I have it installed but can't persuade myself to go for it, I like hardcore stuff, but I don't want see heroines dying.
Completed thing I was reading, maybe will finally try baits today.

らぶらぶらいふ ~お嬢様7人とラブラブハーレム生活~ is easily the most pandering, fan-servicey, base game I've ever played. I love it.
Spoilers about Dies Iraeis there a way to save rusalka or get her route, if she even has one?
