Okay this is a long shot, but does anyone want to buy the /jp/ mansion, for real?

A fairly rich Japanese family member died a while back, and left behind a massive, beautiful house in the countryside outside Hiroshima. I've been there a few times and it's truly a beautiful place. The main structure is two floors with many rooms both tatami and western style. There's also a quiet tea room connected by a square walkway which forms a gated courtyard with the main house, as well as an unconnected external 2 story wing which they used as an office and storage area. It's way out in the middle of bumfuck nowhere though, so apparently the uncle who inherited the property rights now has pretty much given up on finding a buyer and is probably just going to let it fall into ruin, or have it torn down. If there is anyone on /jp/ who could put up some money to buy this place, I could very seriously arrange to have it sold to you. Even something like 10,000,000 yen might be enough. This seems like a /jp/er's dream, hell I would buy it myself if I had some extra cash, a way to sustain myself, and wasn't so attached to living in the city. There has to be some rich NEET, or a group of NEETs out there seriously waiting for something like this.

Someone please ask Sean about this too since this seems right up his alley and I don't really know how to contact him.

Pic is of the courtyard of the house. Contact is in the email field!

Cool house, high maintenance. Not worth the money. Location is not good for commuting, shopping and other things. I guess the land can be valuable to build on..

Yeah it is quite sad seeing all these 'traditional' houses going to waste, but I am afraid people wanting to invest want to get something in return. On the other hand it would make a nice countryside retreat, go fishing by lake and hike in the mountains.

The closest town is Miyoshi. I don't remember the name of the little station nearby, if it even has one. I think only one train comes every few hours or something. Last time I went there we just took a taxi from Miyoshi, it was like 20 or 30 minutes.

If I had the money I would do it. Not that particular house I though.

Also the mansion would need rooms with triple locks or something, touch my fumos and I'll cut your hands off m8.
>>
If you buy it and let people move in with you, what guarantees that they'll even be able to pay the rent? You said yourself that the place is kinda in the middle of nowhere so I don't expect many job opportunities around it. Then watch the house slowly but surely collapse into disarray from being filled with men who probably don't give a damn about cleaning and tidiness.

Buy it and turn it into a hotel instead. Convert a few parts of the house into an onsen, lounge area and such, then market it to westerners as a nice connection to a quiet, peaceful part of Japan: a place where you can meet like-minded individuals and spend some quality time for fair prices. Find some way to market it to Japanese people as well in case the hotel has downtime in between seasons, hire some decent houseworkers and cooks, make sure the place is clean and the food is fresh, local and delicious, maybe find a way to connect internet into the place, and watch it grow and thrive. Your investments will then pay off.

If one of you buys this and turns it into a "/jp/ mansion", expect disaster to befall you. I've warned you.

>>
>>14349176
I searched for it for a while on Google Earth but didn't find it yet, It's one of the valleys outside of Miyoshi, but like I said I went there by taxi so I don't remember exactly where. I have to go somewhere now but I'll find it and post it later.

>>14349180
Zero. Not that I was really expecting any though...
>>
>>14350133
You'd better be a damn good worker, because the hotel would have to recoup all the costs from the startup in the first few months of operation. And from experience, customers are picky in this business. If the place isn't speckless, the rooms aren't elegant and well-maintained and the food is unappetizing, the customer will simply vote with his feet and his wallet and leave. And speaking of food, finding an appropriate sushi chef and a good sous chef who can both work together and put tasty food out in a timely manner is not an easy find for an upstart.

Good service coupled with a good location is what draws a customer into your hotel. Make sure you've got your best maid outfit at the ready and give it your best smile if you want to make that commitment.

>>
>>14353119
I'm not pitching in on the idea, even though I suggested it. I love the idea of a /jp/ mansion but it's unrealistic as hell, an idyllic paradise almost.

I just thought it'd be more viable as a hotel than anything. It's the closest, most down-to-earth option on a desolate region like that. It'll pay for itself at some point if everything is good, and in case that happens, you can still book out the hotel and have your "mansion" day where everyone dresses up as 2hus and fucks in the rooms (I know this happens, don't try to lie to me). Upstarts are very expensive like you said, but it can still be done if the owner knows his shit.

It's a better idea for the actual owner of the place than to have a bunch of strangers take loans and pitch in as a weird-ass board of "business partners" or something. The idea wouldn't last a month like that.
>>
>>14348583

God, the fact that no one even in Japan would want a place like this is fucking tragic.

Not even old timers. You'd think geezers with fat pensions would wanna get away from all the hustle and bustle.

And yeah I'm a filthy waito piggu gaijin penniless NEET, so I've got no munnies and wouldn't be able to get it even if I did.

Have you posted this on /int/, 2ch, and/or 2chan yet? You might have better luck there.

Someone rich could really buy it and make it a home to visit over for other /jp/'sies, the only condition would be that you would have to support yourself during your stay, and depending all on you, weather you would want it or not, you could give some extra cash to support the house expenses for the owner, you could also volounteer to clean and maintain it during your stay.

Basically a hotel idea, but without jewing it out. That way not only some of chosen /jp/sies would get to experience the life on the country side, but everyone who could.

Sorry to keep you guys hanging... Well, I talked to the uncle who owns the house now and although last I had heard he was trying to sell it, it seems now he and the other children of the original owner have made up their minds to tear it down. So he's not even interested in selling the place anymore. Apparently he already turned down an offer from someone in Japan. The house was their father's, built by him from the ground up, and they grew up in it. Now they feel like it should die with him, and they don't really like the idea of someone else living there. The fact that he didn't even want to sell the house to a respectable Japanese person means that he'd probably be even less likely to sell it to a bunch of foreigners who would dress up as Touhous and do lewd things in the bedrooms...

One /jp/er actually emailed me and sounded kind of serious, so I feel kind of shitty now and wish I had never posted..... Sorry guys.

anywhere you are in physical location doesn't really matter, because you belong here

weather for the week at the /jp/ mansion:

You know, in Switzerland there was an empty mansion near a village.
We're talking actual SDM-style mansion here, with huge paintings on walls, statues, halls, lots of rooms, library, garden etc. all that stuff.

And no one was living there; you know what they did?
They gave it away for free to accomodate """""refugees""""", 120 of 'em, and they turned it into a dumpster.
But the shitskins still kept complaining!
They crawled out of caves into a mansion and it still wasn't good enough. Can you believe that?

Isn't it sad /jp/?

Looks like its Koyodo Station or Nobuki Station judging on the proximity of the rails to the river and the distance from the /jp/ mansion.

I just want to retire away.

A get-away retreat sounds heavenly.

that's actually pretty sweet though.

Thanks for sharing none-the-less, OP.

Appreciate the idea, enjoying the scenarios even if it is a pipe dream.

Real dam shame your uncle decided to tear it down. The place is just so traditional.

I actually have a work assignment to Japan next year for the next 5 years.
5 years is enough to get a naturalized citizenship in Japan.
I would've been able to buy this in a heartbeat, if it could wait that long, but too bad.

Opportunities never come when you're prepared.

>that's unfortunate.
Well it's not like any weebs would understand. For you, living in Japan in an old house is probably the dream, but for some native japanese, it's meh. Better tear it down and keep a nice, empty field you can sell later much easier.
I can relate to the owner.

This, OP is advertising this on a mongolian cave drawing enthusiast group known for having a large population of desperate weebs, at bargain prices. Seems like he wants to get rid of it quickly. Its in the middle of nowhere and the only owner is dead. What could possibly go wrong?

Racism generally isnt appreciated here familia. Take your shit to /b/ or /pol/
>>
>>14356229
that's seriously fucked up.

what's it going to take for people to stop unthinkingly allowing this?

Most here would be scared of getting scammed.

as i said in other posts, it's not really practical except as a retreat house for someone who's wealthy.

in general I don't like cool stuff getting torn down, but if it's already in disrepair, maybe it can be rebuilt into something even better.

Cheap as fuck. Is that really possible?

Also, can I even own property in Japan from the outside?
>>
>>14375326
Did you even bother reading the thread?
>>
>>14375348
No, not at the time of posting. I was too interested in the possibility to read before posting, since it would be a unique possibility and easily affordable.

That being said I have read it now
>>
>>14375326
You can own property, but unlike most countries, owning property in Japan doesn't grant you additional visa rights.
>>
>>14350061
Can we please have floor plans, OP? Even something crude with basic measurements and some information on the property that would come with it.

Also some information on local utilities (including reliability), taxes, and their costs?
>>
>>14376326
This is for designing a 3D model and general information for future use, of course.
