I doubt you'll be able to achieve anything relevant with the current event. This is the hardest event we have had so far and the minimum requirements for getting any reward are pretty high. Even if you manage to clear easy versions of the missions, the hard missions are difficult even for veteran players with fully levelled squads. And you need at least 18 stars to even unlock the event unit. So it's probably best if you sit this one out and concentrate on levelling your team, levelling a basis for your team is really important in the beginning.

Somewhere towards the end of the week, after your team is levelled a bit more, you could try to 3* some maps for sacred crystals.

Events usually aren't as mean as this one, so you should be able to do more in the coming events.

In Kanpani, is there any way to increase the chances of getting recipe drops?

GK: the event rank rewards finally got delivered. Seems this "beginner's set" is a bunch of time shavers and a couple 7 day income/prod boosters

DT: I've just discovered that limit breaks using a fully levelled base card guarantees skill ups on the awakened card. I spent hours coming up with the ideal feeding network to raise skills and I'm so glad I can throw it all away to just eat all the unwanted Rs.

I'd say what makes her worth it is that most people don't own a mincosted Jerome. Most people would have to compare her to something like a 12 cost Katie/Julian, and I'd say a platinum soldier with levelled up skill is definitely worth the 1 or 2 extra cost, since you can activate her ability way faster than gold soldiers. Also, her Awakening ability buffs HA defense, which is a nice bonus.

And having an event unit that doesn't need to get 10 skillevels means she should easily end up with at least 4/5. I assume the downside of those unit cost + buff type skills is that the cooldown only starts once the buff runs out? Often a single use of the ability is already enough before retreat, so getting a nice attack and defense buff sounds like a good deal, and I can still field a gold soldier if I want a more constant and stable unit point generation.

Awakening update came straight after Summon beast in the earth event, which was so hard so awakening could be appreciated. Moving awakening to after a weak event makes little sense, in the overall flow of the game.
Nothing has been said about when it'll come nor that we have to have all preawakening events before awakening. Most early post awakening events where easier than summon beast too.

GRs would be good compromise between break and drop farming. There's no post-completion plats at first GRs, and drops are easy so you can complete them in first few attempts, giving plenty of time to do dailies.

Spica is the easiest unit to CR, just need a little 50% luck. I fucked up and went full retard to improve her skill, I just wanted her skill at 4/5 for that range boost yet carried on. rainbow, rainbow, Spica(fail), rainbow(fail), Lauren, rainbow. I'm completely freemium and didn't skip any events at DMM for several months and I'm steadily awakening my units. Got Etana and Rachie to CC50 in one go by spending some of stored up tin cans and still have 15 of them in second barracks.
Only two dailies you ever want to do are DC and affection, and doing them during star trial or story mission events is more than enough. For the rest of time, you are better off by grinding event maps.

These events in this game just last too long and this one feel extra tedious as you are required to come back fairly frequent to reactive quest to maximize your event points. You can't get labyrinth armour from the normal routes. They only drop from the newer routes that were added at the same time as the armour. It's the red option when there's only 2 choices, and you'll want to have level 75+ employees for that.
