This M3 had boring releases.

>>

Goddamn where are all the download links?
And i thought C88 was slow
>>
>>14301124
I'm surprised it's not uploaded yet seeing it's one of the more popular circles. It's even readily available at Melonbooks and such.
>>
Could anyone recommend me some albums to listen to from this M3? Genre doesn't matter, although calmer stuff is preferred. I've been listening only to 2hu till lately and don't know all these circles.
>>
>>14304029
Uploads should pick up soon I think, since people not in Japan will probably start getting whatever they ordered this week or next week.

A lot of C88 releases actually got uploaded fairly quickly.

Not much has really been uploaded. AD: Techno 2 is the only thing I've downloaded and liked so far. But if you're transitioning away 2hu, you should really check out the older releases from artist/circles.

It was fun complaining because the 1-2 things you really wanted never got uploaded despite everything else.

What you wanted must've been from an obscure circle. In that case, give it about a year and it might be uploaded. After all, you still have stuff from C85 still getting uploaded once in a while.

I understand his point since the comments thing has annoyed me before, but why not add two download links, one for MP3 and another for FLAC?

I never heard a difference between the two but I don't go outright claiming that my point of view is real just because my hearing happens to suck.
>>
>>14312661
> but why not add two download links, one for MP3 and another for FLAC?

Backburner does that when he posts on DS.

Do people from dojin.co have some of vendetta against DS or something?
>>
>>14312661
I am going to assume the real reason for "not supporting FLAC" is storage limitation. If they can't afford to maintain a lossless library in addition to the mp3s, then that would make sense. Those middle two paragraphs they posted are pretty laughable/insulting though, regardless of which side of the fence you're on. This is coming from someone who has long since stopped downloading FLACs because v0 is plenty good enough for my purposes.
>>
>>14312767
Sorry, I'm stupid and didn't realize they just had links to file hosting sites. I never use that shit.

>>
>>14312767
Well, an archival/sharing site refusing to have lossless because they completely miss the point of lossless formats is pretty laughable in any case. If they only want to host one or the other it should be lossless so you can encode it to whatever format you want. This kind of crap is how we end up with only one extant copy of something floating around and some dumbshit circulating lossy>lossy or lossy>lossless reencodes. Lossless is around so that the copies floating around are worth having, not because of the tiny fraction of spergs that claim they can hear the different between FLAC and mp3 320 in their bargain bin earbuds.
>>
>>14312743
>Do people from dojin.co have some of vendetta against DS or something?

I don't think so since Backburner posts all of their stuff on DS anyway.

From what I've seen, the admin of dojin.co is notoriously stubborn and refuses to change his opinions on stuff, and he comes off as really hipsterish.

I remember when he argued with everyone over which albums to put on his old site. He only wanted what was considered "good" as opposed to having everything, which makes no sense whatsoever because what's "good" is completely subjective.
>>
>>14311435
WHY is it 48 kHz?
>>
>>14313062
Dojin.co is laughable in any case. The one time I tried to use them for anything, the layout was so pathetically bad that on my 2560x1440 resolution I could only see ~10 albums at a time, and there was no way of finding the title of a displayed album except for following the download link and hoping it was included in the filename.

The masturbatory attempt to reinvent navigation was also terrible. It was a few orders of magnitude less user-friendly than the bare-bones FTP server I was looking at at the same time, which made me really stop and think for a moment.

I don't know why the frontend is a bunch of loading tiles with the most difficult comment popups ever when a simple sortable spreadsheet of stuff by title, group, artists inside, date uploaded, etc would work better

>ランコ - Clockup Flowers(izna remix)
>モノクロ.インザナイト(CYTOKINE remix)
>>
>>14316795
The Overlord remix of 賢者の極北 was really good too. Can't say much for the rest though.. sounded completely rushed and outside of the spirit of what made shibayan good in the first place.
>>
>>14317108
Well the point is kinda to make the songs sound different than usual Shibayan fare.

I'll also agree that 賢者の極北 and Clockup flowers were the best remixes there. Nhato and izna are god tier in general. I also liked Fall in the dark but the novelty wears off fast. Linjin did a really good job too.

Overall I think this is better than DISCO METRIC though.
>>
>>14307923
As an album I enjoyed the older Scary Halloween Show release more, but agreed that that track and Marisa's track are gems.
>>
>>14317108

I agree, the Fall in the Dark remix completely goes off a "dark" tangent and doesn't deliver at all.
>>
>>14317156
Remix quality should speak to the spirit of the music.
Shibayan is generally driven by the vocalists (not the lyrics), the clockwork structural and bass repetition, and the balance between the vocals and the backing track.

The good tracks on this album took one or more of these and did well with it. For a few subtle tracks, they were technically or musically strong, which made them sound good.
>Clockup Flowers(izna remix) (though slightly out of vocal/backing balance in places)
>賢者の極北(Nhato Remix) (one of his more conservative remixes/tracks)

The poorer tracks did some stupid shit like speed shifting the lyrics to make them sound unnatural and grating or played a novelty to death without balancing the vocalist against the backing track.
>とびだせ!バンキッキ(Casual Killer remix)
> Fall in the Dark(signum_ii remix)
>>
>>14317305
Yeah agreed, but I still think that the arrangers deliberately strayed from the spirit of Shibayan's music, and thus the results. The dissonance between vocals and music sometimes really stuck out in an annoying way.

>Opus
Godly.
>>
>>14315182
>we have to stick with it
Really? I've never found myself *having* to go there at all. All they do is accumulate links, which are taken from other places, like DS or /jp/, right?
>>
>>14322206
yeah, i'm just saying that it's an incredibly convenient place that collects all the links

the sorting system sucks but that doesn't make it any less of a giant collection
>>
>>14322325
That makes sense, I guess. I wouldn't use the site on principle, though. There are better places out there to accumulate links, and even some places that host everything locally.
>>
>>14322171
Unless you quibble with AAC, Opus is objectively the best audio codec for lossy.

Also, I use for quick encodes because sites are often unwilling to host OPUS releases, like the one mentioned earlier in this thread.
>>
>>14322700
This. I really like Opus as audio codec. Too bad that support is still thinly spread in both hardware and software (and a lot of people will be dumbfounded when they find out that the file they just downloaded isn't MP3).
>>
>>14322700
>>14322730
Opus is meant for live encoding for VOIP and such, not really for passive audio files.
>>
>>14322742
It's not. You can look it up on their website, in fact. Opus is a multi-purpose encoder that has several modes of operation suitable for both low-bandwidth consumation and high-fidelity encodings as well. In fact, the high-quality encoder is based on Ogg Vorbis, and you can't tell me you never downloaded those in the past (before AAC became popular).

Oh, and the more important reason I am using Opus at the moment is that I am uploading these quick encodes on pomf.cat, which has a 50MB upload limit. When I get the scans done, I will bundle them with the lossless+flac+cue as per What.CD standards.

Anyway, here is something anon requested from ARTS2:

>豚乙女 - I CHERRY [OPUS]
http://a.pomf.cat/zfhylo.7z
>>
>>14322902
>>14322165

Once again, I am taking requests.

Anything from C88, to Reitaisai, to C89 is golden, as long as it has not already been uploaded, and you give me a link. Pre-ordering is perfectly fine and even preferred, given the lag time of shipping. I prefer Touhou, but I will definitely grab anything which is original or sticks out.

Pardon the trip code, but it helps for organization.

I think it's (sjis)MONOSPACE(/sjis)
Replace () with [].
MONOSPACE
>>
>>14326719
Yes, but Mona is decidedly not monospace. Every character has a known size relative to every other, which is what allowed the font "Mona" to specifically be created in the first place, and what allows compatible derivatives to be created, but that ratio is not always 1 (or 2...) as in monospaced fonts.

Don't get anything other than O2amp + ODAC combo. Made by a real engineer rather than an audiophool. Will drive any impedance headphone with ease and will not drain you wallet significantly. Also can run on batteries.

Try scan at 1200dpi if possible, then use Dfine from the google Nik Collection to remove the pattern. Then you can scale it down about 50% and you will barely see it. (obv only if you have a 1200dpi scanner)

That looks a bit better. Try add a section of the blue hair manually in Dfine, that should make all of it disappear. Use Image > Image Size to scale it down from 3000dpi (around 50%~) using the Bicubic (smooth gradients) resample option (this depends on your version of photoshop, I'm using CC)
