It's never too early to talk about Comiket 89. Anyone going? Has anyone bought their plane tickets yet?
Never been to Comiket, but I want to skip Christmas and go to Japan instead. Been to Japan before to meet the Touhou Grand Wizard.
Has anyone been to comitia? Summer comiket is too hot and winter comiket is too cold, not to mention to expensive plane tickets around new years.
I live in Tokyo now, so I'll go. Already went to Reitaisai, so I'm familiar with Big Sight a bit.
Surely there'll be some /jp/ meetup. I might go even there.

know this is comiket 89 thread, but anyone know anything about when the schedules fall for the biannual comikets? thinking about making the trip out to mecca comiket 90.

Another anon in Tokyo. Definitely going to C89. I learned my lesson in C88, M3, and Reitaisai that the catalog and a map is pretty much needed to go to conventions like these.

Man, it's been a whole year since we poured out liquor for that nigga furude and still nobody's heard from him?
First time going there this year and looking at the catalog is really overwhelming. I can't decide anything based on these tinny pictures and I doubt I can just freely move around and look at stuff when I'm there.
I guess I have two dozen artists marked on the map, but they all make porn. Getting animator doujins and artbooks would be nice too.

Unless you're into gay stuff, you can use the first day to figure out the layout and location of Big Sight, pick up company merch, and accommodate yourself to the environment to path better on the days that have bigger name circles.
And unless you're taking a group, don't expect to get much of what you want unless you hit up places like Mandarake, Lashinban or K-books with an aftermarket premium.

I am confused. I only occasionally use Mandarake for digital products. Otherwise, I use Toranoana or Melonbooks, with Suruga-ya for old (2+ years) items.

They're all stores with secondhand sections in Akiba and they all get packed with event shit the day of or day after. They're the stores you want to hit up after the day's Comiket if you missed out on anything.
In my experience, they all price differently with Lashinban pricing the cheapest with least stock while Mandarake has more expensive big name artist stuff. K-books had more individual doujins.
I'll be there too, taking pictures of creeps and gaijin.
