Well there are some songs that are more trying to be soothing than others. I find mofu, onyanoko misuterii, donut tenderness and time machine to be pretty comfy and soothing songs. The others are all more hyper and extreme, except Beyond the Stars...which is a good opener for the album but is a bit plain compared to the rest (maybe I'm just sick of Nanahira too)

It's hard to say. What kind of criteria do you have to determine whether something is denpa or not? I mainly interpret denpa as denpa due to the vocals, or else there's no real distinction between a gabber/rock/pop album and a denpa album. So, actually, you might be better off looking into some things that aren't under the label "denpa".
Your best bet would be to simply find an album that comes with instrumentals. A good number of them do.

It's truly amusing that the most musically acomplished track of such a great album is Donut Tenderness because it's the most "conservative" song of all. Even so,Katahotori masterfully uses already proven and old concepts to create a harmony and balance in the whole composition while adding a lot of small details that simply leave me without words, truly the mark of an experienced composer. I take my hato off to Katahotori for such an skilfull show and obviously to China too for her lovely vocals.
It's been a long time since I've been so enthusiastic about a song.

And indeed it's a great denpa song, in fact I think Mofu is actually the most Tru Denpa song of that album but Katahotori puts so much atention to detail that it's simply better. Some of the things he does is using China's voice in more ways than simply the vocal melody of the song, he distorts it, uses double voice, places the characteristicals squeeks of denpa song in the right places. He actually manages to completely fuse the vocal and instrumental line in a single melodical line without any transition or silence abd that's very difficult without the song becoming unpleasant. Other thing he does is subtly variating the 2 themes he uses throughout the song by adding new sounds that bring their own melodical line without actually breaking with what he's already stablished in the main themes.
I called this song conservative because it doesn't really bring anything new, it's just that Katahotori it's so experienced using then that brings something incredible from a formal point of view. It's a result that can only come by experience and talent mixed together
