Do I really have to memorize all this shit ? Yeah, I get it, i can see it being useful when you want to duplicate tiles, but remembering a specific method for everything ?
I don't think a lot of artists or illustrator really uses all of that
No, you just have to be able to draw in a way that the viewers believes it. Usually your gut feeling will be faster than whatever this is.

There's nothing to memorize there, you mirror points alongside some axis and draw a box to help you with keeping the measurement right.
You could have skipped it altogether and just grab line and triangle and mark few points from the curve on the other side of line of symmetry and pass the line through those points.
There's no technique to that, it's basic shit.
Learn the logic, not the example.
You don't even have to remember if your eyes and arm remember it for you.
this is stuff to help you draw forms in space convincingly. I use it all the time when i have to draw reflections in the lake, making shitty spaceships and mechs, doing boats etc.

Learning this stuff is based on understanding, not mastery. You're not expected to draw the array every time. Draw it enough and the logic becomes common-sense. if you try to memorize every fucking step of everything, you'll end up like those guys who draw nothing but cubes for years.
as a general rule:
> working smart = trains your eye
> working hard = trains your hand
the higher your hand-eye skill is, the better you are at art.
Easier said than done, but it's important to know so you can actually make it, and not end up complaining about stupid things like style.
