Okay guys, so how does non-generic non-tumblr art look?
Can you post some names/pictures of artists that are "generic tumblr artists" VS "non-generic ones" (excluding classical art, of course)
pic is of course unrelated

Sorry friend. You only deserve generic Tumblr artists.
I don't know. If you post concept art people will mock that as well, so what's the point of even asking anyone in this shithole?

A good art style should be rooted in some basic elements, like how you render form, how much attention you pay to details, the colors/textures, what basic shapes you prefer, how much your gesture/construction is showing - that's what makes it versatile.
Ima post a few I like, but first - pic related, a pretty generic tumblr stuff.
tumblr style looks like something out of a disney portfolio

I like this one

Looks inspired by French and Japanese cartooning and illustration design, couldn't give you a style or anything though

I posted them because I found them "non-generic", so no, not really.
Check out characterdesignreferences.com, they're on facebook as well, posting pretty neat stuff.
Also you might like Triplets of Belleville or the Illusionist (2010) movie, they're both very well made.

Girly art = generic cute tumblr portraits and animals with decorative flowers and shit. Red noses, gay looking men, ugly black trans girls. Stylized or semi-realistic.
Manly art = generic sexualized girls/fantasy/sci fi. Men with walking sticks in generic epic environments. Knights with shitty over the top armour designs. Semi-realistic or realistic.
Those are generalizations

Actual Art: generic planes of rhythm and colour that transcend the need to illustrate shitty characters. Abstraction, philosophies the realm of artist statements and 40 year projects.
