Unskillful rotoscoping. The movement itself is good since it was, well, taken from real life. The problem is you need excellent, fluid in-betweens to not make outlines all jittery and very, very careful about placing cartoony heads onto the rotoscope ones so the facial features don't move around like they do in this clip. Basically you need skills, time and money and at least two of these are never available in enough quantity for anime studios.

Somehow I like this more than the bee and somethingcat style. The crayons/colored pencils, the stick figures... It leaks a cartooniness and almost a self awareness that the new style seems to have lost.
