How do you go about it? make a tonne of (insert flavour of the month) porn?

Whats a good pseudonym to go by? seems like its usually two words, one 'cute' sounding eg Milktip Shepuppy Legoman sketch, Cutepet

I also feel like you have to be at a certain skill level before you could get any level of exposure, In this case i'd want to do animated gifs like this.

let me preface with please, please don't even draw a penis head as wrong as it is in that gif, it looks like it's upside down and that makes me frown

second, if you don't mind catering to some niche fetish, your quality only has to be just passable in order to gain an audience, tho if you if actually good you can very easily dominate that niche while also expanding into more "mainstream" work (this means more money)

>Whats a good pseudonym to go by?
pseudonyms can be whatever, i named myself after an outdated term for when the dinosaurs died cause i don't give a shit an it sounded cool

>How do you go about it? make a tonne of (insert flavour of the month) porn?
that's a good way to build an audience, but i really suggest only going in on drawing stuff you actually like, else you risk hella burnout. if you actually like the new flavor of the month and have actual ideas go for it, but if you're not feelin it, don't force yourself, find something else you're earnestly into that's still relatively super popular and draw that.
chasing the new hotness will get you in front of the most eyes, but you should focus more on quality since you want to find people who like your work, not people who only care for the IP's you co-opt.

also, if you're looking to get into commissions i hope you like furry cause they're about the only smut consumer base where most of the people are into actually paying artists. it mostly has a lot to do with almost everyone having their own personal character (read: fursona) and their desire to see that character doing sexual things results in having to buy a personal commission.

also remember you're basically in customer service so all the "fun" things that come that are included with the job except now everyone's horny. work on building a rapport with your audience and unless someone is being a scary monster and super creep you gotta be willing to work with some odd individuals

Thanks for the crit and advice

Be absolutely clear what is an automatic no to you. If you are open minded, just remember that there are a lot of weird tastes out there. Once you make a splash with a weird commission, you could see ripples later on. Good for money, bad if you genuinely don't like drawing it.

Build your portfolio before commissions open. If you are making a new blog not attached to a SFW profile, then you need to show what you can do. Makes it easier since there are people who will go "make what you did here but this character" or "I want a girl like this but with a smaller chest and bigger dick".

Have fun with it. Porn is best when it's something you enjoy drawing.

How do commissions work in terms of payment and all that process?

Foot fetish, in my opinion. People pay good money for nicely drawn feet, and improving your anatomical knowledge is something you should be shooting for anyway, so might as well.
