honestly don't frequent this board often, current art major currently planning a like performance piece and wanted to see if anyone here has any experience with anything like stage direction, installations or video works..

So those LED lights are not actually dimable, but you can dim them by turning them on and off really fucking fast. 50% duty cycle, 50% brightness. If you move an LED quickly this can be perceived, but this doesn't happen to incandescent sources.
Just find the speed at which turning/moving in front of an object causes this jarring to be perceived and you have a neat contrast to play with.
