What am I doing wrong? Please help. I feel like theres so much i have to learn still.
this is the reference. I wasnt going for a full copy just liked the pose and the lighting.
I like the drawing as a cartoon, but if you were trying to copy the reference it doesn't really seem you tried to get the angles and proportions, mainly in the chin area.
stop beating yourself up and just do a few more copies, if you have like 7 and made the same mistake in all of them come back and we can start to treat your symbol seeing retardation.

oh dam yeah, I changed the jaw big time for she has a man jaw tried to make it more feminine i suppose.
I still draw symbolicly ?
from worst to bad:
>signed study
>photo instead of scan
>no construction
>forms not drawn, only shapes/outlines
>shadowing is a mess, no contrast, not following the form= do not help
>>2557432
Not really, I just meant that you make stuff up instead of trying to put it down correctly.

Signatures are acceptable even if its a study.
I dont have a scanner im sorry will you forgive?
I will work more on construction.
I find it difficult to draw shapes on the form. I dont fully understand as it requires a basic loomis method.
I definitly need to work more on my shadows and contrast.

have some tuts
Facial features and angles are completely different, which I guess would be fine if that was your intent, if only you hadn't messed up proportions in the process. The main thing that draws attention is that you changed the tilt of the head without accounting for it in the top part, it looks like she's missing a chunk of her skull.

back to loomis i go

Very useful. Thanks <3

Yes, and you should draw those man jaws because you're going to find that you can only draw perfectly proportioned young white people and that gets boring pretty quick

If you keep this line of thought up you will never truly be able to draw.

I've got them from this facebook page /hinh.hoa.nghien.cuu/?fref=ts
For the specific album they came from you'll have to scroll down a bit, but the site generally posts very good pencil drawings and a bunch of pages from Chinese books and whatnot.
