What angle do you draw at? I'm thinking about buying something so the paper doesn't lie flat on my desk but i'm not sure which angle it should be.
I made this with a box, a box cutter and a shoelace. You might need a flat piece to put on the bottom (you can see it in this pic) and have a stack of paper. You could use twine and maybe you could use two holes at the bottom as well.
This is where I put it.
I've thought about making a large circular one that can be spun around.

I like how you can still see grease spots from the pizza on the carton. Ghetto as fuck. Godspeed anon
I use a large hardcover book and a paperclip (the big kind like pic related), with a relatively sturdy item to hold the cover up (I had a wii u controller stand that worked perfectly, probably the only use I ended up getting out of my wii u). Clip the paper/sketchbook to the top of the book.
Bam you've got an adjustable drawing board. It's not perfect but it did the job just fine for me. Usually I had it around a 40 degree angle, maybe slightly steeper.

>destroying a cover by writing on it
Disgusting
Easels are a thing boys. Tape your surface to a sheet of mdf.
Try locking your Armand drawing curves with your legs.

Somehow I feel like the value of my Guiness Book of World Records 2007 edition won't be immensely impacted by some scratchmarks.

I've never been comfortable with an easel. They're too...vertical for my taste. Drawing on a desk top is also a problem, having to hunch over the paper. I haven't built anything yet, but I'm thinking of just building some basic wedge thing that can sit on my desk at about 27°. Maybe even a bit steeper. 45° is a bit too extreme though I think.

but I forgot to mention, I wouldn't recommend it
the easel I posted can go anywhere from 0 to 90 degrees and can be put anywhere on the table so that's what I would recommend, the drawing board can be put just on the edge of it and whenever you rest your hand on the part outside of the table it will flip over and hit you in the face, on the easel you can atleast put something heavy on it's back legs so it's more stable

Drafting table. Table easel.

Easels are excellent if you want to draw big but require you to adapt how you draw. Most people draw from the wrist or elbow, drawing standing upright demands that you get a better control in shoulder/elbow stuff.
When I switched at first my shoulder hurt all the time.
I wouldn't recommend easels with tablets though, since those are usually limited in area. Standing easels make sense with A3 paper or above imho.

What is a normal table?

drawing desk.= Table

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't care for those scrawny legs on the thing though. I'm by no means heavy handed, but I feel like I would end up bending or outright breaking those

Good drafting tables are expensive as fuck, and also I don't really have room for another large piece of furniture. That's why I'd rather go with something that can just...modify my current desk.
