So I made these 15 drawings for a portfolio for an Illustration course entrance. I showed it today. I want some critique from you so I can get a bit of perspective.
I have little to no idea if it was even standard.
Don't mind being harsh, but mind you I made this in 20 days from scratch with only pastels, sanguine, indian ink, gouache and pencils/pens. I'll dump now.
This actually started as a doodle.
I'd come across this and thought it was interesting:

I really like how this looks, nice work
quote from Carl Sagan
Oneiric vision
This was in a Salvia trip
I saw this in a psylocibin trip

weird i once took salvia and saw something pretty similar. it was in a black void and there were 2 beings that i couldn't see, cutting up sheets of light
I think you show things they might find quite interesting, and you experimented wiht your materials. You are certainly better than most people who were in my class. So unless they've gotten a lot stricter with admissions, I think you have a very good chance you've been accepted. I'm not sure however how happy you should be because the school is utter shit. Keep working on your art, is all, I guess. I'd love to hear the result down the line. Cheers!
what kind of course is it? a BA?
Oh, hold on... Those last seven or something... Aiii. I don't think you should have included.

To me, more specifically I saw a single row of tv-like screens strecthing upwards indefinitely. Down below I saw light blue neon glowing roads like in Tron.

Not OP, but yes, BA in Illustration. School is horrid though, saying this as an ex-student.
>>2536374
Yeah, the whole process didn't struck me stern at all. And the last thing I want is get cozy with people about "creativity". I want to learn some freakin' skills.
There's an interesting past alumni though, Sylvie Overheul. She turned out to become an oil on canvas realistic painter. Not sure this course has anything to do with it

if it's a BA, all you have to be is better than everyone else that's applying, and you can count on them to be total shit. you won't have a problem getting in OP. just don't forget to keep on going with fundamentals in your free time, because chances are the school won't teach you shit about them
>>2536383
I would not ever write off creativity like that.
You say you want to learn skills? Creativity is a skill itself.
>>2536403
Here's the problem. There's good reason to think a lot of those young people will be hipsters and or people who think Jackson Pollock is le real art. This sounds pretentious as fuck, I know. I'm fine with learning creativity but it's the "learning from your fellow colleagues" thing that makes me doubtful.

muh creativity is the mother of chicken scratchy DA tier bubble gradient dA images

Did you ignore what I was telling you in that last thread? I really wasn't lying. Art is my passion and my drive and it nearly destroyed me when I dropped out after experiencing that this school does not strive to make their students competentand skilled artists.
>>2536424
But what else can I get for a Ba in doing what I like? Where else can I go for education?
>>2536433
Illustration is one of the few fields where you can be successful without a degree.

Can I find work doing something like album covers, RPG's, trading cards, movie posters, forensic facial sketches or prehistoric/scientific/textbook illustrations?
>>2536438
Yes.
Yes to it all.

As adorable as you gibberish language is, could you translate that to English?
>>2536447
Ik voel me niet bereid voor de job market in illustratie. Ik ga toch een atelier zoeken.
>>2536447
And does that guy have a background in science?
>>2536447
(Niet hem) over welke school heb je het?
