Do you fellow anons know where to find any good art contests?
There is something about contest that makes me more motivated, it may be the sense of challenge.
Pic unrelated
Cubebrushes' seem pretty cool, and the league system (gold for pros, silver for hobbyists, bronze for noobies) works really well. The competition is judged by AAA industry artists too, and the sense of community is great.
I went to cubebrush, but it seems the forums are being reworked, damn shame. But those comps are fun.

Pretty beta, anon.
Artstation has a lot of challenges.

It probably keeps the normies out and goes towards the prize.
You're more likely to give a shit if you sunk $14 bucks, too.

the best contests are the ones that are art related, but not super likely to have a lot of artists enter. DA use to have a lot of cool contests like this.
I placed in the gears of war 3 contest a while back and was completely robbed of first place though. My painting was the number 1 most viewed, commented, shared, and favorite of them.
There was a starcraft 2 tournament contest awhile back where I won some crazy cool shit like the best i7 quad core at the time(was like $999) and about $1200 in cash.
The league of legends and DOTA contests are packed with amazing artists however. Most of them being korean and it's pretty pointless to enter those.

Can you post the entries that won you stuff? And how do you find out about those types of things? I feel like not a lot of artists enter because not many hear about it.

Addendum: the prizes
According to this page
http://faso.com/boldbrush/awards
FASO offers a grand total of $2,750 in actual cash (doled out to 4 artists arbitrarily chosen by whoever runs FASO) and $6,428 worth of "exposure" including-their words-"your artwork featured somewhere on this website for 1 month".
How many paintings are entered into this competition?
The 250 paintings featured on this page represent 15% of the total number of paintings submitted for the month of April of this year.
http://faso.com/boldbrush/fav15/180
With that in mind, FASO supposedly received about 1,665 entries that month; with their entry fee of $14 that represents a total of $23,310 they received in that month, and if that represents a typical month that means that FASO would make about $279,720 in a typical year, while magnanimously rewarding 48 (.17%) of their entrants with a portion of the $33,000 they've allotted to the only people actually creating content for their organization.
Artstation contests are pretty gud.
wut wut

how often are they updated? I've been waiting so long for the next one. Due date is over.
Isn't Sargon of Akkad still holding an art contest? It might be over already but there was a good cash prize and I'm pretty sure he wanted to use the winner's art in his videos and he would also credit you in video or something.

Sarcuck of Mossad should go be fat somewhere else to be honest family

I just did the research. It's $300; basically an amount just over what one or two good illustrations should pay. Stop doing this contest shit, it's just a way for lardbody blowhards and companies to exploit artists.

good illustrations costs thousands, not a couple hundred bucks lol.

It depends on what he would hypothetically want and what your definition of "good" is. I have no idea what he's expecting so I'm just assuming like a solid base color illustration with a character or two in the same vein as that gay drawing of his avatar smoking a cigar.
