To be fair, it's just as silly for everybody to be the same gender/race. Especially in cultural melting pots like the US. Countries are not composed of nearly always the same people anymore. When you look at people on the street, try counting how many different kinds of people you see. Gender, race, weight, and age. I'm very certain you'll find there's a lot more variety that you expect. This is one of the reasons why figure drawing is so useful, because you see a much greater variety of characters in real life than you can easily generate in your head.
A final note, if you need artists to justify their characters being a specific race, you need to apply that to white and/or male and/or young characters, too. You can't just cherry pick telling people to justify stuff. If you demand justification, do so fairly and across the board.

If you really follow his advice, you'll improve much slower than people who use construction. Construction helps you think in 3d and there's several benefits to it. She makes good stylistic choices, and her art contains things that appeal to people on a base level (curves, big shiny eyes, ect.) thing is, her art is great on a surface level, but it starts looking wonky and clumsy if you look at it for longer then a few minuets. I've seen paintings of what i'd say are ugly women, but even then i'd call the painting beautiful. These Tumblr artist just make ugly 'art' for the sake of it. If they want to make art showing imperfections in people thats fine, but fucking make it appealing to look at.

Yes, all women grow facial hair. It's not usually very visible (usually a peach-fuzz look), but some ladies (usually with higher testosterone levels) have hair that grows in dark enough that they get staches akin to 13 yo boys. Also, random dark hairs on chins/cheeks/necks aren't uncommon either, though anything resembling a beard seems pretty rare.
Most western girls pluck, shave, wax, and/or bleach any facial hair because our culture says it's gross. Not disagreeing, but I'm def aware I only think that because of our current beauty standards. Tumblr does such a terrible job challenging the norms, it's actually impressive.
