How hard/easy is it to get into watercolor? I was thinking of dropping about $35 AUD +shipping into link below, provided it's not fake.

Watercolor is the easiest to learn, but one of the hardest to master. Just put some water on your brush, dip it in paint, and you get exactly what you expect to. It blends very well, but depending on how wet it is, often too well. A huge part is learning how to let the paint do what it wants. Also, you MUST use watercolor paper or it'll warp (or even dissolve).

I think Watercolor is a pretty difficult medium to start with. However its not expensive. Is that a lot of money for you? Then don't do it.
Watercolor is very easy, even babies can do it. But doing masterful watercolorful pieces is stupid hard.

Well it's about $50 for a medium completely new to me. In fact I don't paint at all usually.

well, one don't want it to look like shit, no? Also you can't really correct mistakes in watercolor. If I screw up, I just start anew.

I would do it probably, but I dont think much of 50$ for a things that could last a long time. More importantly though, do you like watercolor paintings? If you don't like em, dont do em.

I really like watercolor paintings, which is why I wanted to start with watercolor. I've started getting more serious about my work and it feels so lifeless without color. So I felt watercolor would be better than buying some markers.

then do it and figure it out. It is difficult yes, but learnable. Like everything in art.
