If this can get published what's stopping you?
>>
>>2527142
there's decades of context behind how that managed to get published
>>
>>2527142
I always wondered what happened in those 50 or so chapters, it looked like all his assistants quit and he was trying to reach the 17 or so page a week quota by himself

This is from the original onepunch man web comic.

Getting a story published isn't about the art.
>>
>>2527155
Didn't think he had assistants.
>>
>>2527156
>>2527142
But what if I can't even do that?
>>
>>2527162
I can't find any information on his process offhand but Wikipedia says it's common to have three. Even monthly American comic books have inkers at least.

How does mine comprare? Can I get published?
>>
>manga/comic artist

Nah fuck that shit. Too stressful. Illustrations all the way.
>>
>>2527182
Why can I constantly see under their chin.
And even ignoring art, that paneling is awful and breaks the 180-degree rule constantly.

That could still get published though, but you never will.
>>
>>2527156
>Getting a story published isn't about the art.

ONE's webcomic didn't get published though, the Murata remake did.
>>
>>2527191
There's a 180 degree rule to paneling? Can you br specific?

As far as the chins go, I'm still practicing heads at different angles.
>>
>>2527199
If this is seriously your work then this may be the first time I've knowingly communicated with a high functioning autist. Good luck.

1st and 2nd panel has his head tilted up and to the left. 3rd has him tilted down and to the right. So it's jarring and inconsistent.

Also there's no reason to show a character's back like in panel 5 unless there's something else in the frame with him that's the true focus of the panel.

Go read a manga or a comic and see why it flows way better.
And what's with the character's giving non-exigent exposition.
>"HEH, AS EXPECTED OF MY ARCH NEMESIS, HERE I COME WITH MY POWER GLOVES."
Literally no one talks like that so it sounds like a 4th grader wrote it instead of some 26-27 year old.
>>
>>2527207
So umm... is there like a reason you're such a shit-head?

"Hey, look up the 180 degree rule desu senpai. You could work on that. Also, head angling is wrong. Dialogue seems akward"

See, thats basically all you said condensed in to a couple of sentences, without all the added condescension.

The 180 degree rule is somrthing i've never heard of till now and honestly seems like nitpicking. I don't find it jarring at all. Granted, maybe that's because I drew it but who knows. Does it really matterin which panel I decide I draw a character with his back turned? Seems like nitpicking. How is that important at all?

Only the first and last sentence condescend, and yes it is necessary or else I would have just ignored your post like everyone else.

And the 180 degree rule is definitely important for clarity and flow.

Here's an example from a manga. The girl is remembering her past. She is always on the right and boy is always on the left. She's always looking forward and left, he's always looking to the right.

This is consistent in every single page in the rest of the chapter.

It may not have been through a publisher but it was made public.
>>
>>2527192
It got way internet popular prior to the remake, which drew the attention of based Murata in the first place. Now he's had two stories serialized.

>>2527142
You just gotta make a greatly successful series beforehand, marry a woman who created a conquering franchise powerhouse, start your new series off with such popularity that it sells 60 million copies, come down with a debilitating illness but still try your damndest to keep it going, and then you too can half-ass a page or too.

Wow! So simple! Why doesn't everyone do that.
>>
>>2527142
Lack of a storytelling ability
>>
>>2527406
>It got way internet popular prior to the remake, which drew the attention of based Murata in the first place. Now he's had two stories serialized.

Doesn't change the fact that Jump didn't serialize the webcomic but the Murata remake. If you are arguing that getting a story published is not about the art, then you can't cite someone who is part of a team effort and is working together with a great artist on their serialization.

Obviously if you're a good writer, you have fresh and interesting ideas, you even provide very good storyboards and team up with a great artist, you can get published regardless how your own art looks.

Yes, it actually nearly killed him from stress and back pain. YYH was one the only competitors to Dragonball Z during this time, so Shonen Jump worked Togashi to near-death. It's success pretty much put Togashi on some sort of tenure in Shonen Jump, and that's why for HxH he can submit pages of chickenscratch like in the OP and take as much hiatuses as he needs to. Compounded with the fact that Togashi doesn't have concrete character designs, his art can be very lackluster at times.

Togashi has a unique contract with SJ because he was so popular in the nineties that his chapters increased the sales of their magazine by a large margin. They didn't want to lose him so all he has to do is release a certain minimum of chapters every year. He could shit on 12 pieces of paper and they'd have no choice to accept it, and it would sell better than anything else they have serialized.

The last place anyone should get information from is 4chan. You guys are fucking idiots if you think anyone on IC, FIT, or any other board has a clue at what they're talking about.

>>2530312

By your logic, anyone can write fanfict and make a living. How is your patreon coming along, Sakimichan? Are you making 1 million a year like she is? No? Then fuck off.
>>
>>2530256
But Sailor Moon is shit for little girls while HxH is actually good. Unless his wife is secretly writing HxH I don't see a connection as HxH made it big on its own.
>>
>>2528957
Even during the hiatus HxH tankoubons were still one of the top sellers.
>>
>>2527448
>>2527649
He can draw very well. (Not just traced objects but also detailed portraits of characters) But he doesn't give a fuck about doing it for the weekly chapters. He always cleans up the art for the tankoubons though. Pretty sure that was a major reason for the long hiatus.

>Miura has been working for like 20+ years straight with short to no hiatuses

>short to no hiatuses

What? Miura is fucking notorious for CONSTANTLY going on hiatus and playing Idolmaster instead of working on Berserk.

Also, just because some artists can do it doesn't mean people who can't are hacks, you edgy little moron. You probably haven't drawn a single comic page in your life, let alone had ever experienced anything even close to the deadlines of a professional mangaka. The amount of work that takes is absolutely insane. Western comic book artists already work hard and have crazy deadlines, but that's nothing compared to what weekly serialized mangaka have to put up with.

He drew the comic that saved the largest comic magazine in Japan, but they really dicked him over with his old contract, so when his contract was renewed he dicked them over and can now draw as lazily and infrequently as he wants and still get paid.

He also married to the woman that drew sailor moon, Togashi is living the dream.

Been trying as well for about a year now.
This is one of the better pages from my manga I'm working on.
My manga still doesn't look manga-ish enough and I can't tell what's off in my comic.
Is it my lines are too thick?
Art is too rough / lines not clean enough?
The grey tones I'm using?

I feel it's lacking some sort of look that could trick people into thinking it's nip.
Right now it looks deviant-tier.

Can somebody criticise this page for example.
This is one of my better pages as well and it's looks lacking.
>>
>>2536454
fucking stop
go do studies till you learn to fucking draw jesus

you guys realize that wasting your time on shit like this isnt going to help you improve nearly as fast as doing studies right? RIGHT?
>>
>>2536454
>I feel it's lacking some sort of look that could trick people into thinking it's nip.
It's probably the "not knowing how to draw" part.
>>
>>2536454
to be quite honest with you, there's a lot that doesn't work in that page

the drawings themselves just aren't very good, which is definitely a big problem
the lineart is really bad and unclean
if you would just google manga page just from the thumbnails you'd see that a good manga page consists of several different screentones and different values

go back to fundamentals and come back later once you've got them down
>>
>>2536454
Go learn some fundamentals
Learn how people are constructed, how negative space works,
And learn how comic paneling works to make it interesting and eye catching.
If you want to make something out of this then you can't just draw watherver you want without a base, you have to understand what you're drawing first.
