Just gather some small objects, (mugs, fruit, things that don't have an overwhelming amount of detail), set them on a solid color cloth of some kind, and light it with a lamp or window. Then set up with your painting tools of choice and copy what you see.
For beginners, it's generally helpful to limit your pallete at first too, to primary colors and a deep brown.

When I look at that picture, all I can see are the imperfections that would stick out if I tried to use that as a reference.
I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the picture or the girl, considering it's a photo, but I've noticed that there are a lot of things that don't translate well into drawn art, especially when stylized.
In this particular picture, is the muscle under her (from our perspective) right arm, and the hidden deltoid over her left arm. The curve where her rib cage ends on the right side and the hip sticking out would also look a bit iffy if drawn.
As a result of this, I often have a lot of trouble finding pictures that I can use for reference. Granted, it's not that big of a problem if you simply use it as a guide, rather than slavishly copying it, but it's still an issue.
I guess avoiding these issues is also part of what separates a good photographer from a bad one.

Proportion is a thing. Maybe you a misinterpreting the word. Think of it as "in proportion" or is the size appropriate.
Like hulks over-sized hands and bigger torso those are still in proportionately appropriate for the style.
If one hand was regular sized and the other was large when the desire is for it to be of identical size than it is proportionately incorrect.
Artist do care about this, placing objects in proportion on different 3D planes affect aesthetics, how believable the drawing is, the style/character.

Well you normally dont make arms longer than legs, but fuck i often see great works with hips being almost as long as torso and lower legs being longer than upper legs, and the best ones manage to make it look just fucking good.

The difference between that picture and your drawing is Rei is standing so gravity is pulling her breasts down. Your girl looks like she's laying on her back so her breasts wouldn't be in the same shape as these. If it's a case of aesthetics I can promise you adding proper weight to the breasts would be more aesthetically pleasing. People are trained to look for shapes and curves that indicate certain things in reality and the goal of drawing is to translate those visual cues and exaggerate them. I can usually construct a head in 3d form pretty nicely, and consistently, but then I always struggle when I add the eyes/nose/mouth to the head. mostly the eyes, they're either flat, or just look wonky. i tried drawing the same scene and it's pretty hard. but i think the key is to have a horizon line. and you have to make it so that you look up at everything that is above the horizon line, even the object in front.
right now that's definitely one thing you're not doing. you're looking at the cross as if you're looking at it straight from the front.
this is all assuming the object in front is a lot smaller than the character.

I mean, there are obvious 3D models, but then we have the skin of the body that has got a similar 3D model texture to it like the rest, but the lines clearly shows it's a drawing.
And does other people do the models? People have been calling him for being lazy, but those models are quite still pretty well made, and god knows modeling, texturing and rendering takes time.
