It's not really a tutorial. A tutorial would have written directions to follow explaining each step, would have more of the process shown, and would showcase things like brushed used, pen pressure, etc. This just seemed to be more of a person's work process showing people how they typically get from point A to point G.

It would be like taking the "key drawings" out of a speed paint.

why? is it because of your personal bias?
>>
>>2478092
Tutorial to do what? Character design sheets? Or that style?
>>
>>2478092
Textured brush pen for the sketches, color blocking for the colored pieces. You can probably achieve the colored portions using just a typical hard round brush or blocking out the areas with a lasso tool.
>>
>>2478101
The steps, I don't know how do it.
>>
>>2478100
>why? is it because of your personal bias?

Because it's useless. This stuff is teaching you nothing other than one mediocre artist's process. You think anyone ever got gud by looking at these tutorials?
>>
>>2478106
man if he wants to draw it let him be, dont be a dick
>>
>>2478106
You think anyone got gud by not trying different methods?
>>
>>2478106

The fact that it's useless to you shows me that you have a limited outlook, and likely won't make it. It's also quite professional looking. Far from mediocre.

this might be a stupid question but I cant figure out how to do this:

I have these 2 colors and I want to paint over the blue with the magenta and viceversa. No matter which brush I use (PS) it always give me a different color. How can I fix this? Is there any default option? Is this how I should be working? I tried to look to tutorials but I dont know how to name this.
>>
>>2478205
you could use different layers. i'm sure there are other options those
>>
>>2478205
Is your opacity not set to 100? Or do you have a color mode on (like overlay or pin light)?

I wanted to make gradients, so using so many layers is making it so difficult.
>>2478210
Its already set to 100, I think it might be this option menu (pic related). Its my first time touching it and I dont remember which one had by default, maybe 2B pencil.

Hey there is there any coloring tutorial for PS? I always use the magic wand for selecting the areas and then coloring, but most of the lines have spaces between them and I always end up coloring by hand instead of using a mask.
Any tips?
>>
>>2478292
what about using the magic wand to select the outline outside the coloring area then inversing the selection, then color?
>>
>>2478312
If I do that, like everyone else seems to do, it also selects the interior because my lines arent closed on most points, like in the previous picture attached.
>>
>>2478319
Then close up those lines. Do you really need those holes and specks to improve your art in the long run? if you really want it as a stylistic choice, then make them on a separate layer.
>>
>>2478323
I guess I should make my lineart all closed up and try to think this way while drawing then.
Is there any video tutorial for making all this masking?

Adding a fat, messy white border does not make the character pop out. it just adds a load of visual noise that just makes it harder to focus on the character.

Any tips for drawing with a mouse?
I've never been to /ic/ before and I need some help because I want to edit this picture.
>>
>>2483403
Yes

The first step in using your mouse to draw is using your mouse to open your internet browser and copying and pasting this link into the address bar

https://www.huiontablet.com/huion-wh1409.html
>>
>>2483409
Sorry for asking but I just wanted to get this done and I'm poorfag right now so can't just buy a tablet. But thank you for the suggestion, I actually didn't know which one was the best or suggested.
>>
>>2483403
Where's the picture.

Anyway, the only advantage working on a tablet has over a mouse is the speed advantage. But really, WAY FASTER. The rest are gimmicks. Or can be substituted by other means.

question on the layer names and some nomenclature.
>Middle Tone - does this mean use 50% gray to generate your colors?
>tint lights - what is a tint light, and how is it different from regular light
>color adjustment layer, how does this work? I see color layer as an option, but what do i put IN the layer? Will Blue do X, Red do Y, or is it Black does X, white does Y???
>color burn / additive color - same question how does this layer work?

Don't forget to extend the selection so that it gets in the middle of the lines and you don't get a white outline.
