it depends on where you like to work i own a intuos small and a instuos large and have 7 years with the small and 4 years with the large, I only use the large one at my studio and the small one at starbucks or home and when i travell

with the intuos i like just made some lines and rounds at a friend's house
There is no set time. If you want to get more serious about your development and you have the money, then a larger and better tablet may make things more efficient.

Instead, spend $40 on a 18x24 drawing board, clips, compressed charcoal and a fuckton of newsprint. Learn to draw from your arm and get involved in live figure drawing and sight size and bridgman studies. $40 is about 6 months of materials. Do this for 2 years and then you'll be able to sell drawing for enough for two tablets.

>stepping up on a intuos
get an Intous 3 those are must haves get one today from fleabay or craiglist
even ruan jia owns one
Yes absolutely
think of it this way
You're paying for tools for your job
I assume you're not making money now but once you make art your living dumping 2k on a cintiq is nothing. Not nothing price wise but nothing decision wise
It's like you work in a job that has you walk 30 miles a day, you wouldn't think twice when buying a £500 pair of shoes
Buy that intuos and git gud, you'll thank yourself in the long run
What's the best program to use a drawing tablet with?
I've got an old Intuos GD-0608-U. Are these garbage now?
i got the small and im pretty happy with it. i got a deal for 150 at my pawn shop.
i can deal with the small active are since my other tablets have shitty nibs and and a bad active are *huion h610pro and perixxs*. but yeah op you should step up your tablet.
