I feel an unrepressible urge to create things and bounce between Art, Sculpting, Carpentry, game design, and writing. Because of this I'm unable to actually do any of them but have decided to begin creating a table top game so that I can at least channel all my creative bents into one single goal in spite of their incoherence.
Except the carpentry. I guess I can make little houses to fight among.
Because I made something cool that one time that people really loved and I got addicted to that feeling
Also I'm like one of those types of men that need to 'leave a mark' or something, because the idea of going through time leaving a trail of work just seems so attractive to me.

I'm kinda in a similar boat. I've been doing drawing, sculpting, 3d modeling, programming, music and robotics. I've been on the verge of buying a CNC router so I can build robotic parts from scratch, but I still haven't taken that step.
The downside to having too many creative ventures is the lack of time to perfect them all, and the impact it has on ones social life. Granted, drawing has always been #1 for me.
For five years I've had some sort of chronic daydreaming addiction. Now that I can art, it's a way to show what (and mostly who) I have been thinking about.

I create art because at some point in my early life, I decided that I "was an artist" and its what I was supposed to be great at.
Just kidding. I dont create jack-shit - I just sit here surrounding by half-starts and vain illusions of greatness, without talent or drive. There's no joy left in it.
I feel the urge, so I must fulfil it.
My internal life has always been in direct competition with my external existence. Art is the only way for it to get out.
If I could mentally project my ideas into the real world I'd probably put my pencil down forever, but we haven't figure out how to do that yet.

It's my passion. I don't make money from it, I'm certainly not famous nor ever will be/want to be, I just like to create be it a sketch, full piece, sculpt or anything so you could say my one true love has and always will be art.
Everything is senseless, hopeless and we all just try to occupy our mind with some bullshit until we finally die. Art happens to be that bullshit for me.

I've always wanted to create worlds and characters. Only recently put writing aside in favor of art, because I'm getting good enough that I can't stand to only have things in text anymore.
Because I want to bring what I think and feel into the physical world.

I don't like it that much, but I want to, and eventually if I get good enough I think I will. And I'd lose the last bit of respect I have for myself if I gave it up.
When I was a kid, I'd regularly get grounded for arguing with my parents, and getting stuck in my room usually meant drawing or reading.
I drew a lot, and was a lucky fuck, because having a marketing director patent who has graphic designers on the team is super useful for early encouragement when dragged to restaurants with parents and said designers, and you're bored and just drawing all of the damn time to cope with things.

I'm literally the more depraved version of >>2467256 / >>2467279 because on one hand I mostly want to draw dickgirls, but at the same time I just want to git gud and be able to draw whatever else I want. Also if I'm drawing, I'm not whacking off, so I think it helps a lot to be able to channel all that otherwise wasted energy into something satisfying and productive. It's one of the few things in life that I've never given up on, no matter how many times I've fallen off the wagon, so it means a lot to me to try and be the best.
Because the short times I work without worry on creating something is the closest I can get to passion, and the art that results is the only unquestionable pride I have in myself. At least I enjoy the process.

I create art because to me, art is power. That should be the end goal of it. Whether it's emotional or physical or visceral, it needs to jump out and move. That's why my favorite art has great color schemes and unique line weight to give the figures that special sense of volume and flow.
I want to make art to fill what I feel are gaps in what's out there to see.
Conceptualising art is discovering a story, creating order out of chaos. Creating art is being able to experience the thing you find beautiful enough to try and capture. Sharing art is being able to communicate every inexpressible thing inside you that brought you there.
All of it brings greater understanding of everything.
Or at least, the illusion of it. Really, it's just a socially inept, masturbatory substitute for getting high and talking shit with your friends. It's all the same shit, we're all just trying to live and grow and cope and understand, in our own ways.
