Remember that you draw with your head nor your hands. When you practice put your thought into it. Analise everything, always observe, drawing from nature is 90% observing the object and the other 10% is actually drawing it. Learn perspective first and foremost (I suggest "Perspective made easy"), when drawing start from basic shapes and then gradually add more details.

Loomis is an artist that helps with anatomy of humans (from what I've gathered) and no, not really. You can easily translate physical to digital, but going from digital to traditional is very difficult, especially for a newfag.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Loomis, is in fact, fundamentals, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, fundamentals of drawing. Loomis is not an fundamental unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning drawing system made useful by the pencils, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by FUN WITH A PENCIL.
Many artists run a modified version of the fundamental system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of fundamentals which are widely used today is often called “Loomis”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the fundamental system, developed by the real world. There really is a Loomis, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use.
Loomis is the kernel: the fundamentals in the style that allocates the artist’s resources that he uses in drawing. The fundamentals are an essential part of an drawing style, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete syle. Loomis is normally used in combination with personal stylistic choses: the whole system is basically fundamentals with style added, or personal drawing style. All the so-called “Loomis” distributions are really distributions of fundamentals.
