another great one, by Mysteryben27
by the way, what do you think the future of youtube animation is? i'd like to get into it but a lot of people say it's about to crap out. apparently it's not worth it anymore?
I understand it's takes a lot of time to produce even a few minutes of animation, but most of those animators have very little skill in terms of draftsmanship, illustration, and concept. Where the artistic integrity.
I can only hope Allah will bless us with better animators and smite these dumpster bin shitters in the future.

OP fucks himself up
Does anyone have any good links to After Effects or other adobe animation software for putting one phone screen's content onto another?
My dad convinced me to take a commission while I was asleep and now he won't let me back out (I don't have the commissioner's contact info)
and as you can tell from my sleeping abilities my mental health is in no location to be dealing something so stressful-
None of the tutorials on the internet I can find handle the problem of what to do when part of the screen is blocked by a hand.
I can rotoscope the hand out to cover it back up, but I can't figure out how to keep the motion tracker stable, so I get this issue here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgQ0XQ5VZ68
also if you want I can continue to give you updates on my mental breakdown, mostly caused by poor dietary decisions, but I mean being tricked into doing something I have no experience doing certainly isn' thelpping!!
Also I'm working on doing something to prevent my dad from ever talking me into a commission again. I'm relatively conversant in my sleep but I sure as hell can't read or write...

catfat's also excellent.

tl;dr am too mentally unstable to figure out how to stabilize something in After Effects
Would like advice or links to good advice about handling phone screens that are being touched and obscured by a hand, as all I can find are tutorials involving unobscured screens
Have access to all Adobe Software as of 2015

Always loved chluaid's style.

i agree with this entirely. this goes beyond youtube animators but youtube/entertainment produced by millennials for millennials.
no one takes the time to work on their craft. nobody has a good story to tell or even knows how to tell one either.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Je5ED0Uekis
Obligatory.
This guy works very hard, and most of the stuff he produces looks pretty good, even if his overall drawing skills aren't amazing, he doesn't try to hide it with retard/ugly face meme style.
>>2455082
Technical skill is thrown out the window slowly with all the technology, people don't care either way whether you're doing puppet animation or drawing with little draftsmanship skills. It's a weird culture that's developed, no one cares how good you are
>>2455120
holy fuck i love this
it's well made and a really interesting way to skip frames without seeming lazy
>>2455120
Doesnt he trace over 3dcg to animate? It might just be rumors
>>2455143
I wouldn't totally agree with you, it's just that internet favors quantity over quality
to appreciate something and pick up the small details means you have to build up a taste for it, but that require times, so ppl go constantly after instant gratification with other stuff
and since low quality stuff can be made faster, it grows on those without a taste, which make up the majority, and on the internet everybody views are equal
I guess equality isn't totally good, since it brings down quality, eh?
>>2455171
to me it just look like his style
>>2455171
He did that for one video, also "rumors" makes it sound like it would be a bad thing
This went around /co/ for awhile. Just wait.

As a kid I was obsessed with his style and remember trying to mimic it, never was a big fan of the daskin or whatever the hell it was called though.
This was animated by ONE

guy

utter bullshit
this is no different than the crap made in the newground days. kids doing animations simply suck no matter what decade because they make zero effort learning the fundamentals to perfect their craft
>>2455600
What if I told you, it's all the books this site is familiar with including Loomis.
>>2455678
>>2455605
Most of the "animators" producing work during the height of newgrounds were probably millennials though.
>>2455171
Who cares about the methods if the results pay off.
If 3D models speed up the process of animation then fucking go for it.

Harry Partridge?
>>2455678
He browses 4chan so I'm sure he must lurk on here,I remember he visited /m/ a few times when working on the star wars short
>>2458262
that's not really the animator's fault,he based this off a gundam manga from the 90s who's author drew horrible faces, if anything they look a bit better here
this dude is one of the best, though he is an edgy 30 year something, but man, he really puts some hard work and effort into every animation he does

I made this morphing shapes animation a while back (:.
>>2455605
>because they make zero effort learning the fundamentals to perfect their craft
They're just trying to have fun, man. They're just kids that want to make something cool to show their friends. It's good to develop a love for a craft instead of diving straight into exercises and studies.

EVERY ANIMATOR WHO WANTS TO MAKE MONEY FROM ANIMATION WHAT SO EVER NEEDS TO FOLLOW TALES OF ALETHRION
>>2459098
God it's nice animation but jesus christ I hate how slow they purposely make the framerate.
>>2459478
You can tell from the camera moves that it's being shot at 24FPS. They just animate on threes and fours for slow movement to save work.
>>2459482
But even the rain is set on 3's and 4's and it just comes across as painfully slow and almost makes me impatient to watch.
Considering the second project was a Kickstarter (Wasn't it?), I feel like it wouldn't have killed them to throw some 2's in there. I've seen impressive thesis films done with a regular framerate and almost no budget done by only a couple of people, sometimes one.
>>2459047
stuff of fucking legends right here.
>>2459484
If you watch their behind the scenes, the mention that the money they raise isn't even enough for them to go full time. They're still working day jobs while trying to complete this full project.
