Any of you ever do body art casually?
Got bored during a lecture today so I pulled a sharpie and made it.
Took about 30 minutes.

Haven't done any recently, this pic is a couple years old. Before that I hadn't done any since high school or so.
It started as tracing the veins and then quickly got out of control. I like doodling on my hand. I just don't really do it anymore. I draw as a job so I don't really have a chance to just doodle on myself usually.
Did that shit all the time in highschool when I was bored in class.
btw if you're not using non-toxic water based inks or things specifically designed to be used on skin, you're absorbing some pretty nasty shit from that ink.

what "nasty shit" are you talking about? xylene is only toxic in large quantities and is more dangerous when you smell it, not when you write on you, glycol is only dangerous when you consume (keyword being consume) it in large quantities and alcohol is far from dangerous.

You do know that you can absorb shit through your skin right? It's not as an efficient method of absorption as inhaling or eating, but some does get through. Yeah, in small quantities it doesn't really matter, but if op is doing the hand drawing thing on a regular basis/not washing it off for many long hours at a time, it can become a problem. In the end though, if there is healthier options out there, why not use those instead? Your health isn't necessarily dependent on single events but the accumulation of shit over time. The better you treat yourself, the better off you are.

Did it constantly as a teenager but doodled on my leg last year while slowly going insane from no internet, no phone, no books, or tv while stuck inside due to a huge storm. Didn't have a reference and gave up because I fucked up on the teeth.

I used to sharpie entire sleeves of intricate patterns in middleschool. One teacher made me go to the bathroom to clean it off so I didn't come back to class because I didn't want to wash it off. It took 4 hours I'm not about to clean that off right after.
