This was particularly true in Greek drama, which contained plots which could equally have applied to anyone. Their drama, as Spengler says, was a depiction of someone simply "falling into destiny", while a modern character would attempt some form of "directional biography".

Anyway, that quote is just a great classical vindication of every kind of systematic, artistic Movement.
