Post art supplies you carry daily. Pens, pencils, journals, books, anything that you draw with when you're out.

This is the first time I've heard of lead holders; maybe I'll go look for one.
>>
I have two: one set for my work truck which is just a small sketchbook, a pencil, a technical own and a waterbrush loaded with diluted black ink.

My other set up is a small sketchbook with a lead holder and maybe a brush pen if I feel like carrying it.

I doodle at best when I'm not home, though. The fountain pen is more for notes than drawing but it's actually surprisingly fun to sketch with.

you have a fukcing long way to go future sempai. i admire your pragmatic aprroach of using a clipboard and not paying any mind to the moleskin meme. you should also not pay any mind to what people think of you, faggot!!
>>
>>2440602
Which shade of grey of them copics is best if I only get 1 for sketching?
>>
>>2440741

I would recommend at least two shades. if you can get all cool greys and refills, they are perfect for value practice. get scotts rendering dvds and watch your skills go sempai level
>>
>>2440696

I have a toned sketchbook but don't carry it around.

I basically got a set of 3 of those sketchbooks dirt cheap on amazon, they fit nicely into my pocket (even my jeans pocket on some pairs when I'm not wearing a jacket) and generally suit their job. If I'm using it it's on a hard surface anyway, they fold open pretty easy after a little use and are surprisingly durable.
>>
>>2440783

Am I a pleb for loving the Papermate Flair? These things are awesome and are like a cheaper brush pen, though obviously not too much like a brush pen. I've got a bunch of Sakuras, Staedtlers, and Faber-Castell Pitt pens over the last year I've been drawing, but I keep coming back to the Flair. The only bad thing is that the felt nib seems to go bad before it runt out of ink, but at less than a dollar a piece it's not such a bad thing.
>>
>>2440798
thanks anon, i will give them a try on my next shipment set.
>>
>>2440804
i have these in medium and small. they are really great and versatile. love the black line variations. also cheap. dont get so depressed when i lose one. one of my favorites.
>>
>>2440811

nice. I've only seen the medium ones in stores; I guess I'll have to oder the others online.
>>
>>2440804
Whatever floats your boat m8. I love brush pens but they are so hard to use and since I'm not that great at drawing to begin with, so my brush pen just sits on the desk most of the time.
>>
>>2440834
they becomes really good when you devolop that hair trigger sensitivity.the Flair pen will never replace the brushes pen.

but why do you have so many of them? haha
>>
>>2440840
I only have one. I bought it because I saw a lot of drawings done with them and they looked cool. Shit's hard to do tho. I think I'll start carrying it around with me so I at least use it for sketching.
>>
>>2440849
so read it as many instead my. good thought. i will join you anon

Yes
They're really good for marker, and excellent for pen and pencil.
Really smooth, if you like that kind of paper.
And really cheap, so you can load up on a bunch of them and bust through them one at a time.
>>
>>2440694
Eh, in a sketchbook pencils are too correctable. Though if you treat a pencil like a pen and actually care about each individual stroke as if it was permanent, then yes they're awesome.

Paper is too thin and too smooth imo, but they're good for pen sketches, and absolutely great for fountain pens, especially considering the price. Get the glue-bound version that has the elastic band, though, that's the only one that won't fall apart.

One copic and one ball point pen. Crappy 60 pages small sketchbook and the pornhub app.

Pentel Hybrid Technica if I'm not mistaken. The only disadvantage is that the ink is not waterproof.

it's still a valid discussion, and people on this board as well as most successful artists enjoy discussing it, because it's trying to find what you will be spending the rest of your life using to create art. doesn't mean it takes a high priority but it's still something

I recently bought another lead holder as I lost the other two I had. I couldn't recommend them highly enough... I love them, and I've only recently discovered there are even more models besides then standard 2.0 you can get colored leads!!!
>>
>>2440611
Lead holders are great, much more practical to sharpen on the go than a pencil. Check out Koh-I-Noor lead holders, they have pretty cheap but still really solid, durable, full metal lead holders.
>>
>>2442342
>hey give me the list of your supplies, im a noob, looking to buy stuff

Left to right: pentel pocket brush, kuretake pocket brush. (The pentel has been leaking a lot lately. Not sure if this is normal, but i use it to fill large areas now.)

Tachikawa G nib pen. I was surprised how good quality this pen was. I often use brush and nibs for my comic work, and this pen is one is those it-gets-better-the-more-you-use-it. Starts out stiff, but loosens up a little more the more you use it to really give you line variety.

Pentel Stylo. I just recently got this pen and trying it out. Not much to really say about it yet. It's got a micron feel.

Various Col-erase pencils in different colors.

Fabber castell polychromos pencils. Black. My main sketching pencil. Soft, but not oily. Hardly smudges, and feels similar to the col-erase pencils.
>>
>>2441991
What do you use those colored pencils for? I've notcied quite a few people own red and blue pencils but I don't get what's the use for them.
>>
>>2443221
A lot of people I watch sketch in colour, otherwise I guess its for adding value
>>
>>2442258
>>2442290

>what tablet surface pro which one?

Surface Pro 2 (i5/8Gb)

>Is that a legit photoshop version?

It PS CC 2015

>is the tablet like a windows laptop?

Yes, it runs everything a laptop of the same specs can run and it boots much faster

>how much and what type of stylus did you get/pay for?

It's a wacom feel stylus, it's way better than the bundled one

>>2442264
I really like it, the performance and battery life is great but it took a new stylus and a BT keyboard to reach that point.

It also has its cons, the borders of the screen throws any stroke in the wrong direction and the screen is small but you get used to it.
>>
>>2443221
I personally use them for under sketch construction for figures and guidelines on perspective. But you can also use them like >>2443259

Like the name suggests, they are erasable. So long as you sketch lightly. But a lot of comic users and animators use them because most of them are light enough that printers won't pick up on them. Or it's real easy to eliminate the color digitally so only your final line work will show.
>>
>>2440614
because you're mentally retarded
>>
>>2440602
im like this dude

i carry an all purpose bag, but ultimately end up using a clipboard with printer paper or a softcover sketchpad.

I use whatever drawing tools I have. My favorite is the pigment liner/mech pencil, I feel they work very similarly. But it's nice to use a graphite pencil/lead holder/colerase.
