It really depends on how your local job market is. For example, here, it's all political campaigning and government type jobs, so you better enjoy making a lot of editorial work and photo retouching for candidates. Kinda soulcrushing.

I can't speak for anatomy jobs globally but here it seems like it depends on what you can add to it. A medical undergrad can go into an actual med job, a graphic designer can illustrate for academia and the medical industry, a programmer can develop imaging technologies etc. Obviously it's not that strict but you get the idea. Self taught for 6 months 1 week and 29 years old, no previous experience, study or interest. Pic is the lesson plan I had on the side of my stream from back when I lived on Twitch. If I could go back and change one thing it'd be to start with perspective and to draw from imagination as much as I studied.
I setup a sketchbook on conceptart.org and maintained it for a couple months but I got tired of the site being down half the time I posted so I abandoned it. I did keep a list of all the resources I used as well as how/why I used them.

I think I made good progress in the first 6 months but I want to make great progress in the next 6 so I'm going full tryhard.

I dunno it's easy to waste a lot of time if you focus on something for too long. I added portraits specifically to the lesson plan because they require everything I'd learned up to that point. Plus it's a marketable skill and faces are important regardless of what I decide to do.
After I finish the lesson plan I'm going to try out illustration, concept art, animation and comics to see what I want to focus on. I'd rather spend a month or two figuring out what I want to do over choosing whatever sounds like a good idea and end up wasting a lot of time or burn out because I'm doing something I don't enjoy but was convinced I should do

I have one theory.
When you study and understand certain concepts, your brain starts to think about a bunch of different things when you create pieces compared to before when you drew blindly.Therefore you're going to make a lot more mistakes because you're trying to get things right.
Also it's easier to learn really simple symbols and draw them in such a way that it still looks appealing. It's why the simplest formless cute pictures of Pikachu on Deviantart could have 1000 favorites or whatever but a detailed portrait of noticeably higher skill level could have 7. The more you try to do, the more areas you have to fuck up and as such it wont be as easily consumable to the eye.
Anyway, just keep going anon, you gotta be bad for a while before you get good anyway. And these periods of feeling like shit will always happen. You just gotta push forward.

I wish I spent more time drawing in high school, I doodled during school hours in pretty much every class (grades were still good) but didn't really bother actually studying art and spent most of my free time at home on 4chan or other websites. Yeah, I'm not into it but my personal belief has been that as long as children aren't involved in its production then I don't really care. That seems to be the way most countries handle it law-wise but Canada is one of the few that ban it completely, no exceptions.
I don't know it works with me being in Canada, the server being in the US and the content being hosted elsewhere and I can't afford to hire a lawyer to figure it out. Been copying a famous manga artist for the past few weeks, I got worse.
I don't see the point of LAS. You don't make any improvement at all. I've also been reading Loomis and Bridgeman and it not improving my drawing.
Maybe I have no talent and I'm too old.

There aren't any holidays that happened or will happen recently. It should have won when it was almost Valentine's Day. Hopefully it'll pop up again for St. Patrick's Day or Easter.
