Parmigianino
Raphael
Mantegna
arkveveen
gilpanda
bangabear
Lovis Corinth
Lucian Freud
El Greco
though desu I have much more than 3 favorites, we would have to restrict the question to a particular movement and medium for me to give an accurate answer.
>>2404655
Bacon is the shit
Goya's great but personally not my bag
Sean Scully sucks rat dick imo but I can see how you like him, he has the same sort of expressionistic brushstroke and playful style that draw me to Philip Guston's work.
>>2404617
Good taste, nice diverse selection too. Bosch is king of cluttered dreamscapes, hopper is a master of light and composition, shiele has that expressionistic flair and starved figures that are really quite powerful
>desu
I typed "desu" tho
weird
Fontina d'Aosta
Robiola Piemonte
Taleggio
>>2404745
masters of the italian renaissance, completely under-appreciated.
>>2404734
>he has the same sort of expressionistic brushstroke and playful style that draw me to Philip Guston's work
>'not to mention his other qualities that I read about in the museum's guidebook I'd read that I've refrained from regurgitating mindlessly at this time.'
>>2404759
I'm sorry, is a discussion of art on an art board upsetting you?
>>2404734
Philip Guston is great! i had forgot about him.
about scully, i think int he same way monet transformed the beauty of the sunset, and whistler the beauty of the fog, scully does that with stripes, but stripes are mor frequent in our lifes, so i think is more universal, walking in any city feels like his paintings, i think thats why i like them
>>2404776
I certainly prefer his work to outright minimalism and hard-edge painting that deals with rectangles (ellsworth kelly, mondrian, the suprematists, etc.). I haven't seen his work in person so I really can't give a fully informed opinion, I'm just really not that fond of minimalist trends, even color field painting like Rothko and Frankenthaler.

> Boichi is bad
His stories are shit once he tries to do fighting arcs and stupd plots, but his art is fucking top notch.
Can't say I really like his samefaces girls and their mouths that looks like buttholes though.
>>2407580
>His stories are bad
That's what I don't like about him. Why would I read a narrative based visual medium if only half of that is good?
I respect his skill in drawing, but he lacks the essential quality of emotion and meaning behind his work, which is odd because I can SEE him trying, it just doesn't connect to me.
>>2407611
>His stories are bad
I never said that. Sun Ken Rock is overall ton of fun, and he's really fucking good at comedic and SoL stories. The problem is when he begins making endless shounen-like fights. And even those parts aren't so bad, they just gets sometimes endless with unnecessary nekketsu features.
>>2407618
Andi I just can't hate him when I see his production omake pages, his dedication is incredibly inspiring.
>>2407618
I'm a huge boichi fan and even I admit that his stories are grade A full retard corny steaming shit. I think you might be confusing plot and writing with storyboarding or visual storytelling, which he excels at.
>>2407631
do you really think Sun Ken Rock isn't fun?
Again, it's just some fighting related stuffs and forced plot twists that are bad. Pic related was full of shit for example
> I was way way stronger than you all along and just got my ass beaten in the first fight to add some drama
>>2407640
welp, I know I didn't read after that point since it got silly, (the single think which got me in this manga was the art anyway) but I wouldn't call that moment full of shit, just forced
everybody can have a bad day, ''power levels'' are not a constant, the same way you could today draw like never before and the day after get back your mediocre levels
a different anon which just read the last 2 comments btw
jmw turner

>>2407640
It's very fun, in a retarded way. Corny shit can be immensely enjoyable. See: Tarantino.

im surprised. rubens would have fitted your taste better. he is great though. i love how he just doesnt give a fuck about anything.
>>2408768
Raphael is the epitome of decorum, the opposite of kitsch.
>>2409563
You're probably speaking to a mentally ill schielefag. Don't bother correcting these people, just let them go on feeling like their art history degrees and their awful opinions mean anything to anybody other than their banker.
>>2409563
>epitome of decorum
>nothing more than superficial idealism
you must be a very uninteresting person
Gustave Dore
Pierre Auguste Renoir
