I've always envied this guy (and similar artists) the ability to draw with relatively sketchy, rough lines and still get something that looks stylized and complete.

I wrote "relatively sketchy", which it is. If you actually study the pictures, you'll notice he leaves out a lot of information and keeps inaccurately drawn body parts and obvious mistakes. The hands are just drawn in a single pass, and look very rough. This could be polished to a much greater degree.
That's not the point though. I envy him the ability to draw like this and still make it look good. His style and skill lets him draw like this, without drawing attention to the so-called mistakes.
