Enjoy always submitting old work you're probably no longer happy with instead of filling a large canvas with everything and submit that in a chunk. If you're struggling to keep up drawing every day so you need to keep back ups, you're the one who's never going to go anywhere, with or without LAS. This site was a blessing for you, if it weren't for the deadline you probably wouldn't draw nearly as frequently as you do now. When it ends you're probably going to go back to never improving.
Learn to schedule your day and something as simple as 2 hours of drawing every day is cake.

I don't know if anyone will read this or care but whatever I feel like typing. I've been playing videogames since I was like 3 years old (am 26) and don't plan on ever stopping but to me there are two kinds of games.
The first kind are games like Zelda, RPGs most retro games or whatever solo games you enjoy. Those are good because they don't stress you up, they're often very inspiring and they make you happy. Also you never feel like you HAVE to play these games, and although sometimes you might get upset at something difficult coming up it's still overall a nice feeling.
The second kind are games like MMO, League of Legends, competitive games by Blizzard (SC, HS, ...), stuff like CS and so on. Those are just plain shit, they're addictive and make you feel like you have to play them everyday or so otherwise "you are missing on something" or "you are getting behind". They're like drugs, and those you should ditch them out without any second thoughts.
It's true that now I'm spending more time working on art and other hobbies I have I found myself playing less than I used to, but when I do play I end up having a lot of fun, I really do feel like "playing", and not having some kind of side-job crushing my mental health and free-time to nothingness.

The competition topic will be announced on a saturday and you'll have all week to work on it. It'll be due on Friday and that weekly topic will also be the topic of the day for Friday. That way you'll only ever need to submit one image and you'll be able to participate in everything.
The difference with the competitions is that people will be able to vote for a winner. Only the people who've been an active submitter for 7 days in a row (same requirement as the tribunal) will be able to vote to minimize cheating. The winner will get a badge on their profile

Do you want the site to dwindle and die by the end of the year? We're losing people at a pretty steady rate, and without new people joining it wouldn't be very long before there were only a few left, and they might just quit because they feel like there's not much meaning in such a small competition.
But this also got me thinking, it would be cool to have an option on the gallery page to show only people from your week. It would probably feel more competitive that way.

I don't know if you're Lava but anyway even if LAS ends up dying one day that doesn't mean LAS has to end for good.
Right now could be "season 1". So for example, let's say LAS dies, then fine, put some kind of gallery showing who lasted more than the others, some winners, etc, then "close" the site for a week or so while hipping and promoting its re-overture for "season 2" (on /ici/).

I never really got into mmos, it seems like they're all about grinding, leveling, and getting loot instead of having fun experiences, exploring cool environments, or getting immersed in stories.

It depends on many factors. The school, the individual, etc. I know many people lack the drive to git gud without the structure of school and it's very good for those people. In the end whether I would say it was worth it for myself depends on if I get a job...

This. I've started a few because I always think they seem really cool and fun, but I always get bored. I've never really found most video games fun, which I used to feel bad about because it seemed like all of the cool people played video games, but now I'm very thankful for it now that I know how time-wasting they are. And I'd honestly rather be drawing.

I feel you man, these days I've been daydreaming about going back in time 10 years and re-playing WoW all over again during its peak. I have so many good memories. It's stupid because I know it'd end the same way it ended but I can't help it. I'd never play the game again but somehow I miss my characters a lot. It's weird.

I dont have time to play anymore, Im just waiting for new character release to try it out and other addicting games coming up, but all my veins are dry now. Just grinding life. I have to find this secret boss called gf and defeat it, also working on two proffessions, hopefully they will pay off on the auction house.
