I have decided to take advice I have received from /ic/ and I am making more strides with my grasp on 3D spaces. I decided to look up some various images of women and human form. I took all of my entire Sunday to dedicate to studying and practicing. I took some elements from a class where I had to draw simple building blueprints and put them into work on Evie. I feel like I can get a better grasp on my perspective as I reintroduce some concepts I got from a building class.

Come back to us with a before and after you take an entire year of studying.
>>
>>2399128

>>2399131
This is true to some extent. KC my negro you gotta give it time. Rome wasn't built in a day, and you're not going to be able to draw the perfect Evie without months or even years of study.

Keep working bud.
>>
>>2399128
Why? This isn't constructive.
>>2399131
The shit that I learned over the years and I have abandoned (since I took a break from drawing for a while) is coming back. I have that feeling. I wasn't able to do posing like that until I spent a day just reintroducing myself to the concepts I studied already. I am excited to say that I am ready to improve.
>>
>>2399134
Well be patient with yourself it is not going to take one sunday this one sunday that you did should be everyday and at any moment possible if you really want to improve you study fundamentals and do life drawing all day erry day you can use your character as a way to build on her with what you learn.
>>
>>2399135
I'm not looking at it as being a master in a day, but if you know me previously for what i usually do, i was excited from the small step i did and how much it will get me to.
>>
>>2399139
Next time post in the drawthreads preferably in this one. >>2398366

If you make dedicated threads for yourself you're going to attract butthurt.
>>
>>2399139
Keep taking small steps and work towards your goals, but consider not announcing every little step you take because people will probably get annoyed and try and mess with you even more than usual. Maybe study quietly for a while (i.e. post as anonymous in the beginner thread) and come back with some much better work and be like "SURPRISE, NIGGA!".
>>

I can handle the heat.

We need to see some simple objects in 1-3 point perspective, draw all lines through your forms, show your work.

You need to show that understanding of perspective befoeyou dig into figure drawing again. And hit some Gesture drawing videos and try it out to get yourself some better understanding of different poses.

That's literally the opposite of what you should be doing. You should be cranking out as many images as possible and thinking about small incremental improvements. Learn through iteration and repetition and don't become overly attached to any one drawing as it represents only a small momentary step on the road to improvement.

Buy yourself a stack of paper and some pencils and erasers and draw a picture on each sheet. Take a look at what you drew, figure out what you learned and what you could do better next time, and move on to the next. Make that your goal to fill up that entire stack with drawings by the end of the year. By December you will have learned way more about drawing than if you slaved over each and every scratch doodle like you were married to it.

He's right just for the record, don't be held back by your love for your character. That said, don't take that to mean that you should never draw something as best as you can either because you should actually do that quite often, as well

Fuck, I think I said that wrong. You should always draw something 'as best as you can', what I mean is you shouldn't waste too much time refining everything you draw, adding superfluous details, coloring it etc.

All of life is like this.
When there's nothing on the line you have to sock away EXP.
Then when the time comes to deliver you hope you have leveled up enough for the showdown.
>>
>>2404227
There you go. Give yourself a few years to practice and grow out of being a self-absorbed teenager. Go out to the park, the woods, or the beach and just try drawing trees and rocks and animals. Find and draw cars and motorcycles and construction equipment. Draw fabric and metal and leather. Draw light and shadow and reflections and transparencies. Of course draw people's bodies and faces. Along the way draw fun stuff out of your imagination too. When it comes time to show someone what you can do, they won't see the thousands of practice sketches you made along the way. But they will see the result of all the small lessons you learned along the way.

Stop drawing anime.
>>
>>2404247
I can't agree more.
I'm like a level 20 pokemon. I can learn better moves the more I get myself more experience and if I keep doing stuff like fight level 3 or 4s I will not grow as an artist. I need to go with things above my level, but not let them defeat me.

Don't even worry about it. They are just memeing you. Better to just get out this shithole and learn perspective, proportion, balance, line weight, anatomy, mechanical motor skills, and all the the basic fundamentals. Then you can draw big eyed cartoon girls when you know what you are doing instead of getting into a slapfight with anonymous trolls about a ms paint scribble.
>>
>>2404264

>>
>>2404252
I really don't get noobs like you. Just look at the bodies he drew. They are very badly drawn, but there doesn't seem to be any attempt at stylization. It's a badly drawn attempt at a regular human figure. The size of the eyes and the face stylization is so fucking irrelevant in comparison to the real problems here. Mainly bad construction leading to messed up proportions.
>>
>>2404279
Oh, then maybe you're the autistic one.

I'm starting to get this board.

The majority is like this one feminazi bitch in my art class calling everything cartooning and anime shit and not art in the slightest.

But who knows. The people with International Baccalaureate art program in 2015 for my Highschool held my art in the highest regard for identity and focus.
But who am I going to listen to? Anon or Scholars? I don't know. I will practice and one day I will show you all that I can do what I want.
>>
>>2404290
But what does "stop drawing anime" even mean? His bodies are a badly drawn attempt at realism. If he stopped drawing big eyes and stylized faces, they would still look like shit. Should he also stop drawing realism then? Instead of worrying about such insignificant and stupid shit like stylized faces, he should instead worry about the core fundamentals that will help improve his work as a whole. Proper construction, perspective, anatomy and proportions. you can learn all of that regardless what styliistic choices you make regarding the face, so your advice of "stop drawing anime" is completely worthless.
>>
>>2404299
I would rather take answers like this than "stop drawing anime" it insults the poster who says it.

This is constructive.
>>
>>2404293
Just go and learn to draw better instead of prancing around like a special snowflake because big ol meanies said your cartoon is shit. The fact that you chose to start tripfagging on 4chan shows that you already have mental or emotional issues.
No one cares about you or your dumb cartoon. Go improve so you can make them care with impressive skills and not because you post whiny attention-seeking narcissistic threads on a cambodian bamboo-carving forum.
>>
>>2404299
What stop drawing anime means is stop copying from a fucking stylized genre that has an emphasis on simplifying and flattening out form in order to meet a budget for animation that would hurt you because it is devoid of any grace and form you can observe from life instead you copy symbols and are fooled and oblivious of the knowledge of underlying form and structure.

Stop drawing anime.
>>
>>2404293
I'm the guy who asked if you were autistic. Whatever the case is, you come off as very socially naive.
>>
>>2404309
But that has nothing to do with anime, you idiot. there are thousands of anime artists who have a great understanding of form and structure. Why do noobs like you always think bad artists who draw anime = it's the fault of the genre/style itself? There are countless of terrible artists who try to draw realism, but no one would ever think of giving them the adivce to stop drawing realism, because that would be fucking stupid.

As you can clearly see by this guy's drawings, he is attempting to draw normal, realistic bodies. He can't do that because he lacks an understanding of the fundamentals. To fix this, he needs to study the fundamentals. What stylistic choices he ends up making for the face has nothing whatsoever to do with this. Are you really too dumb to understand this?

There is virtually no difference between a good anime figure and a good realistic figure. The use of perspective, gesture, construction and anatomy is 100% the same for the body. The only difference is the amount of anatomical detail the artist decides to put into his line drawing, with anime being usually on the slightly more simplified side.
