I'm just curious.

There are 3 good resources I have. Drawabox, Keys to Drawing, and Fun with a Pencil.

What comes after that? Where do I go to learn?

What do you want to draw?

It's like coming off school and going to college. Art isn't linear, pick whatever the hell you want.

time for your early second age crisis as you try to remember why you started all this

You can´t have anyone else decide what is good for you, husbando.

Do what comes naturally to you. Heck, if you want, you can stay in the beginner phase and read other books to improve your art drawing skills.

Just do what you want, pave your own road.

But eh it´s not bad to give you our opinions, so I would say read some other loomis books idk senpai

Post your work. I/someone can give a general guideline/help

Once you're over the basic hurdles it's time to start analyzing your work, determining your goals / your weaknesses, and forming your own path.

First finish with these 3 resources, then you'll have idea. You'll be picking anatomy books on your own, downloading HD sports events for gesture or browsing /hm/ for "reference", you little faggot you.

I don't think OP is asking for any hand holding. Just to know when it's best to tackle their drawings.

I think I have a related question. Doing Proko's lectures and he's going over the body in boxes. Which is cool. But after you're done with the boxes, he says to draw the features, which have never been explained before. I guess you draw what you think you see on the boxes?

Just try to draw whatever you want. Obviously you're not going to have a lot of success with really complicated shit, so try to keep it sort of simple. I went straight out of Keys to Drawing into studies of the beginner thread images, and now I've worked my way up to figure drawing books.

Something you can always work on are still lifes. Simple objects like fruit, vases, etc. Good for learning how to render form, which is one of the big hurdles you really need to get over. Do lots and lots of still life drawings. See how other people do them and try to learn from them. Still life is the best for starting with anything because you don't get bogged down with complicated construction, perspective and value while you're still trying to get the basics of what you're doing. Too many people finish the beginner books and jump straight into figure drawing.

So do pencil or charcoal rendered still life drawings of stuff. Really study the shit out of value and get your forms looking nice. Render the hell out of lots of simple things.

You could also pick up Figure Drawing for All it's Worth, and Drawing the Head and Hands, start learning proportion and construction. Just be patient with it if you're still not very accurate with your drawings. You really gotta slow down and focus on measuring everything properly.
