I want to be a successful studio artist in the entertainment industry. But I want to avoid California if at all possible, despite the industry there being huge.
What other locations are hot spots for 2D/3D entertainment art?

But you can lane split through traffic and get home four times as fast to do your art.
Shit posting aside, doesnt Washington state have some stuff?
Canada
I think there's a few studios in Austin, Seattle, New York, Toronto, Vancouver...
Basically any liberal-oriented city.
I tried to avoid L.A. for a while. Ended up here anyway. But uh, yeah, apart from Hollywood/Burbank, your best bets are Canadian Cities:
Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal.
Heard the scene in New York has kinda dried up recently, but there may be something there.
Course my main area is Animation, so my live-action knowledge is rather limited. They do a lot of filming in Louisiana these days, but I don't know how many local artists they'd be looking for, rather than craftsmen and carpenters and the like.

What are some good cities besides California and Toronto for animation work?

>cities besides California
Stay in school kids.

Uhm... there's a little bit in Austin. Texas' entertainment scene seems to be mostly video game oriented though. Uh... Atlanta's starting to have some studios, but that's small potatoes compared to L.A. Don't know if there's much on the east coast, sadly.
Why do you want to avoid California?
That's like asking where you go besides Hollywood to make it in major motion pictures.
It's Cali or buss, nigga
there are a lot of decent studios in new york
>>2376990
Depends. Atlanta is decent, especially if you're into off the wall shit.

>disgusting, humid weather
>massive spiders
>high crime and gangbangers
>insufferable liberals
Being from Canada, I really love the cold. I would miss it if I left.

Are you already in one of the big Canadian cities (Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto)? I'd say your better off staying if that's the case.
>>2378005
Dude, there's not many gangs up in this bitch, live north of Wilshire and you'll be safer than pretty much everyone else. Personally, I hate it because I've grown up here, but the city offers so much.
>>2378005
This Floridian living in L.A. LAUGHS at your complaints about humidity. You don't know what humidity is!
Anyway, you're Canadian!? Then yeah. Go to Vancouver! Hollywood sends half their work there anyway!
We're always griping about losing jobs to Canadian studios down here!
>>2378005
everywhere you go you will only encounter one of these at the same time desu
Cali is a huge place.
