When you are creating your art?

I'll post some tracks I listen to on loop

What? Why can't we post this here? I am not interested in a discussion about music, I am interested in what an artists listens to while they are making art.

Daily Reminder:

If you're listening to music or something else then you're not concentrating your fullest with the task that is right in front of you.

There we go again.

This is debatable as well as an opinion that reflects your own state when working. Not everyone can concentrate in silence, also, I don't think someone should be listening to music ALL the time, but these specific tracks are more of a means of encouragement than entertainment.

"An individual, paid in full by critical praise, and 'bout as hospitable as God's Biblical plagues"

Damn

I think this is true for music with lyrics or fast rythm, but quiet ambient abstract music like Tim Hecker or Biosphere is perfectly fine.

Modest Mouse, I also like the Adult Swim bumps playlist

Godtier soundtracks.

I usually play songs longer than 7 minutes to get myself in the mood.

Mostly depends on the mood of what I'm drawing.

But as defaults I enjoy Have A Nice Life as a sort of 'white noise' to keep me in the zone and slow me down so I don't get distracted or rush anything, and on the opposite end I like The Kinks when I need some spirit kicked into me.

Always familiar, predictable albums. Not random songs or outside playlists that'll get distracting or be a procrastination temptation. Just throw it on, let it run it's course, and take a conveniently timed short break when it's finished so I don't start getting stupid.

Thanks. I was looking for more goth/post-punk kind of stuff that doesn't suck. My usual blackmetal favorites can be a bit obnoxious when trying to draw and whatnot.
